Donation idea for beta access/w weekly/monthly updates?

Hey guys,

Just wondering.. Eventually you will be accepting donations and eventual payment for the game.
Is it within your intentions to allow donators early access to the engine/game under an NDA perhaps?

A lot of us are incredibly eager to jump in and have a go ourselves and it seems like an alright idea I suppose.
You get some "inspirational" money until release (When we will pay for the release version as well I assume?) and allow us to muck around with the beta's with weekly or monthly updates or something. (Or.. Have to donate extra for weekly updates of the beta over monthly or something).

Just an idea I suppose.


Thoughts?

Its perfect for people arent really sure weather they will like it or not, because they only have pay a small amount to try it out, and if they then like it they can decide to pay more for more content and updates (or not).

 

I don't think this is useless crap at all; even in beta mode. I would pay up to ?40 to play this right now. I have some money aside for the game when it is released if that will even be this year. Point is I really would like to jump in and test as well as many others. Perhaps something a bit like Minecraft's beta.

 

I like this idea, but I think a beta should be free (not saying that I wouldn't be willing to pay $100 just to have access to the beta ). It's good to allow a bunch of people to download the free beta to test the game. Sometimes when I'm bored, I'll download some free betas online to have something to do. Surprisingly, after playing some game demos, I will go out and buy the game. Keep in mind that these are games I would normally never play in my life. Betas are like advertising and, since they're usually free, are very popular. Instead, I think you guys should have a preorder system. If you preorder the game for like $5-$10 more, you get access to some special cars and maps. It would generate some revenue (like a payed beta would) and have a lot of people interested!
