Soo uhh yeah. Let's talk about EDM. I'm not sure too many people on this forum are fans of EDM, but there are thousands of you so there has to be some! Just talk about any genres of EDM you want. Your favorite artists, songs, mixes, anything. Old or new. inb4someonepostsdarudesandstorm Right now I'm personally super pumped. I'm a huge Excision fan and today he released his annual hour and a half long Shambhala Mix!!!! If you're an Excision fan then this is seriously something you'll want to hear. It's literally the sickest dubstep mix of the year. Right now I don't actually make any music, but my SoundCloud profile is packed with playlists of some of the best artists in the industry, (In my opinion) as well as a top 25 playlist that I change all the time. Yeh you could say I kinda like EDM. Some of my favorite artists right now are Zomboy, Excision, Datsik, Pegboard Nerds, and Nitro Fun. I'm also super excited because a full EP of remixes just got released on Monstercat today! Including one from Bear Grillz. Tis a happy day in dubstep. Anyways, you guys share your thoughts! I actually like zed (especially clarity) and monstercat. I used to listen to skrylex (it's late) or whatever but I kinda stopped. I love passion pit and another like them. (I can't remember. Kim and Jeb? Kim and Kate?) I also listened to agent orange and mord fustang. Feed me too. Of course imagine dragons also fits in. Blackmill used to be one of my favorites, but their newer stuff is odd. I've also listened to the offspring. We'll also add Ellie Goulding and Capitol cities. My 3 favorites are; Passion Pit Ellie Goulding Approaching nirvana. You guys should check out Aproaching Nirvana's (A->N) new album. Most songs are different from each other. I really like "keeps me breathing" "virtual is where we live" "scorpion" "zero cool" and "I'm on fire". As you guys can tell, I like all sorts of music. This kinda turned into an offtopic post. Sorry.

Re: EDM Discussion Thread [Dubstep, House, Electro, and more] Well... Imma just bump this thread. There has to be some EDM fans on these forums. Just wanted to get the conversation going again. Anyways, I gotta say I'm really kinda disappointed with how Knife Party's new album is coming. They were dubstep legends and now they actually stated on twitter that they aren't doing any dubstep in this album. That really brought me down. However they already released Begin Again which is honestly an amazing, feel good song. I still have some hope for the album. Even if it's not what I expected the guys will still find some way to make it epic.
FeedMe and MordFustang are both neat. A smaller one that isn't always EDM is Detective Orange. He's known for OMG trampoline since some youtuber used it as an outro I think. He does some electronica I guess you'd call it? It's kinda different.
I listen to an incredibly wide spectrum of music, EDM (electronic/dubstep/techno/DnB/etc.) being part of that. So, strap yourselves in and check out some of this good stuff. Orchestral/electronic hybrid? Yup. Industrial electropop? Sure. Highly aggressive electro noise? Indubitably. Heavy dubstep with electro and orchestral overtones? All day long. Grand EDM infused orchestral? Highly acceptable. REALLY angry electro? Motivating. Hopefully others will find those picks interesting.
Those sound awesome. I especially like the last one but the sort of metal-type lyrics make me turn my head a little bit. Definitely not a metal fan. Anyways, if you like orchestral dubstep or stuff like that listen to instrumental core. I discovered this track a few months ago and it just screams badass. As for some of my favorites... My all time favorite EDM track is actually a Monstercat song oddly enough. They always have great music but it's rarely worthy of being a favorite. Anyways, Nitro Fun - Soldiers And easily my favorite pure dubstep track is Destroid 7 - Bounce by Excision and Spaces Laces And as probably most people do, I just obsess about some new song each week or so.. This is my current obsession lol Kinda on it's way out though. I think my next obsession will be Knife Party - Begin Again haha Sorry for video spam. Just really love this topic
Perhaps not EDM but I dig trance, darkwave, meditation drone, and all sorts of ambient. Lifelong thrash/death/grind/punk junkie. I can't name an EDM outfit to save my ass but some of it is definitely aggressive enough for my tastes.
