I was playing around with engines and thinking about when they blow up.
In msc (My summer car) the engine model seems to change when blowing up, a hole ends up on the bottom and the rods/piston/crank is all messed up.
In beamng we already have glass that has a mesh appear when it breaks.
Would it be possible to do something similar but with engines? when it blows up the mesh changes to a damage engine block and we could see a big hole on the bottom.

Maybe not only limited to engines but other possibilities as well, where you would need a mesh to change on impact.

Could be pulled off with a combination of glowmaps and deformGroups.

This seems like an interesting idea! It could be easily implemented, though a hole in a certain location of the engine could prove innacurate in some cases, as many things can cause an engine to fail, and not all of them will produce a structural failure of the engine block such as a hole :p
