Why does the game disable the engine whenever theres a problem with the vehicle instead of just simulating the problem? I would like to see the battery be able to be drained and be able to hear a slow crank or a click if you try to start it anyways
The engine gets disabled only when its extremely damaged. The game already simulates rod knock, blown headgasket, oil starvation and valvetrain damage, either from overrevving, overheating or oil leaks/slosh But currently I imagine its too complex for most PCs to simulate every single part of an engine, aswell as doing all the collision calculations at the same time.
i think it wouldn't be to hard to add it so the car will at least try to crank when broken, would just be a minor detail that adds to realism without being demanding
yes, but the devs havent implemented a electrical simulation system, since whenever they implement it they want to make it affect the whole car and not just the engine, so that takes time and they dont want to half implement it and leave it for later, probably when they do that well also be able to crank the engine when its out of fuel since theyll revamp how the starter logic works
