Engine Over-rev unreal-ism.

    When you say, run the engine at max revs, in gear 3 and shift straight down to gear 1 making your 6000rpm v8 run at a whopping 8100rpm or something like that it appears to make then engine actually colder... and puts less stress on it.

    I can't help but feel this isn't quite accurate, I'm pretty sure the increased rate of speed causes heat.

    Redlining an engine for a minute heats the block less than a curt acceleration from a stoplight... so yeah, I think it's a bit off in that aspect.
