    Hello there,
I got a little problem here. It's about the plates i made earlier for my mod, which you can get here. On it's own, the ETK I series, the L and P plates show up. However, when it is part of this mod, which you can download at "http://www.beamng.com/threads/superembracers-experiment.30922/", only the L plates show up. Do you know why this happens? This happens to all the vehicles I have with the L and P plates, except the Barstow.

I would appreciate any help very, very much

You may have already done this but i cant imagine it hurts to suggest a solution. Have you made sure that you have made a separate slot which uses the other glass texture that would have the p plates.

Did you examine your beamng.log? Start there.

After loading the aforementioned mod with the main mod, I did, but I'm very confused. I found references to the mod, along with my SuperEmbracer's Experiment Mod, But all that i could find was that the game acknowledged that it was loaded. I could not find any errors or conflicts related to my mod, only other mods in beamng.log

Your log does not show you loading into a level or spawning a vehicle. :) Try that.

I tried fiddling around with it but to no avail. When i package it like the ZIP i provided only the barstow will show up and i just did a quick test and removed the barstow from the vehicles folder but the other two still didnt show up so it is either something in the materials CS folder or in the name of the skin files.

"Your log does not show you loading into a level or spawning a vehicle. :) Try that."

So when you said that, I became a little confused there. Should I load the Independent L and P plates mod or my mod pack?

Install and enable the stuff you have trouble with. Load into a map and spawn the vehicle which is affected. Attempt to install the parts. Quit. Check/post the log file.

So, I disabled the independent mod, loaded my mod pack, put on the invisible P-plates, and quitted the game. I checked the log-file and it said it was trying to load something into slot 0. I thought "This can't be right". Here, go check it for yourself.

The "slot 0" you see in the log is vehicle slot zero in other words the first vehicle spawned into the level. The game currently has 64 vehicle slots numbered 0-63. The log is simply reflecting you spawning / despawning / respawning vehicles in that slot, eg this is normal.

    Try this specifically:
    1. clear your cache
    2. rename documents/BeamNG.drive/vehicles to documents/BeamNG.drive/vehicles.old if it is present
    3. remove all mods
    4. install the mod you posted in the OP
    5. load gridmap
    6. spawn the ETK I-series
    7. check/post the log

I get all the instructions except but which Original Post? the mod pack or the independent mod? Sorry about that, I got confused again. I know what OP stands for but I don't know if OP refers to this post or my main mod.

The OP in this thread - since you've posted a file with the OP I assume that the one you attached is the one you are referring to. If not I have no idea why an attachment was added to the OP... what you've posted in this thread has been particularly sketchy. Really I find this annoying. Ideally your problem should be stated clearly and concisely - if multiple files or mods are involved they should be clearly labeled.

It seems I relearn the same thing, and that I can't make anyone happy no matter how hard i try, and I get it now. I've posted log files like you said. It's in a zip file, one folder is standalone (which is this threads OP) and SuperEmbracer's experiment (my mod from another post). Inside the folders is an respective log file. I hope it helps. After all, It's something i wanted to do in my spare time due to a lack of anything better to do, and if it does not work (or help), don't stress. I can instead work on skins that are not based on car windows.

Read the tone of this post as flat or mild reproach. I am simply not able to follow what you are describing in your posts here. So I've broken down and tried out both the zip in this OP and the one you linked to in the OP... I shouldn't have to install your mod just to figure out what the symptoms are for something simple like this. "Showing up" - what does that mean? Turns out that your parts are "showing up" in the parts selector, but the probationary plates are simply not visible on the car when you load them (when they're packed up together like the zip in your other thread)...

.. am I on the right track here?
    --- Post updated ---
    1. So it looks like a zip-related problem. What software are you using to pack these into zips?
    2. I recommend avoiding spaces and single-quote characters in all areas of your mod other than in descriptive-text areas. So avoid in filenames, part names, etc. That's not the problem this time, but it's a practice that won't hurt you and may avoid a problem. Underscores typically replace spaces when needed.

Sorry I took so long, But I'm back to studying. So anyway, it worked, and about the software I use, Either Ubuntu's Archive Manager when I'm editing the files or Windows Explorer when Moving the files onto Windows so that i could put my mod into BeamNG and see if it works.
So, I tried learning from you, how you did the P-plates correctly, and tried copying you, tried to make some burnside special P-plates. Renamed "etki" to "burnside" wherever i saw "etki" and when I loaded the game, it won't show up. And yes, I did check for all errors and there were none. So I don't get why they don't show up.

Also, I made Green P-plates for the ETK I. I also tried copying the corrected file you did for the P-plates, and renaming "probationaryone" to "probationarytwo" for all instances of the file, but again it does not work. Again, thanks for helping me.

... sorry, I'm not trying to be mean here but I'm really having trouble following your posts. If the problem from the OP is solved you should clearly state what fixed the problem for you. I'm not going to lead you into it - please just post an explanation to help other people who read this thread understand what you did to fix the problem.

I recommend that you use only Windows Explorer for creating with / modifying zips until you are more familiar with the correct parameters to use in other archiving software.

Descriptions such as "it won't show up" and "but again it does not work" do not tell us the symptoms. We need to know precisely what aspect of your effort does not work as expected. If you don't know what I'm getting at here please take another look at my earlier posts in this thread. There are many ways a mod can "not work" and many places it can "not show up". Please be specific.

And finally (RE: what appears to be two more problems you're describing... right?) - attaching properly packaged mods for these makes it easier for us to help you. There are so many potential errors... it helps a huge amount to see the files and be able to drop the zip into the mods folder.

Sorry I took so long (focusing on other parts of my mod), and yeah, I was in a hurry, so I did not check my writing. So I'm going to say my problem step by step. Hopefully this is easier to read. This is for the ETK I series by the way.
    • First off, I copied the "Probationaryone" that you managed to work and renamed everything into "probationarytwo", including the coding and the filenames.

    • Then I added Green P-plates (Hence, the "Probationarytwo"), but however, i was not successful. Again, no result. (Sorry I re-uploaded the whole thing again, the only new addition is the Sunburst Police Skin and L-plates for The Burnside)

    • And please give me tips on how to make my glass skins work on all the official vehicles on BeamNG.drive. That would be appreciated, as i would like to learn how to mod glass skins on my own.

As far as I can see you weren't any more descriptive that time than the previous time. What if I told you this: "I tried to write a book. I was not successful. Again, no result." Would you be able to determine what problem I had? Or even why I suspected that I had a problem at all? I really don't understand why we even need to talk about this - when the doctor asks you to "tell me what's wrong" he doesn't want to hear "well, something was wrong so I had to go to the doctor". I know that your mod doesn't work or you wouldn't be here. This is a very frustrating dialog for me after I've admonished you about not being descriptive 3 or more times now. This is my final effort on that.

"I tried to look at something but it didn't work!" <- this would frustrate your doctor, especially if you repeated it 2-3 times! Try telling your doctor one or more of the things below instead.
    • I can see but everything is blurry. (need glasses)
    • My vision might work fine but my swollen face causes my eyes to remain closed. (allergic reaction to something? need to address the swelling)
    • Everything is dark. (detatched retina maybe?)
    • I get headaches and vomit when I look at stuff (glaucoma maybe?)
    • It was nighttime, other people could see but I could not. (night blindness)
    • It's actually a pattern of differently-colored dots which I simply cannot distinguish. (color blindness or deficiency)
Please communicate better in the future.

As far as your current problem goes... we've already addressed this. You seem to have made a zip that the game doesn't like. Don't do that. Only use Windows Explorer to pack your zips. I'm repeating myself of course.

Pro-tip: Do not bother with zips until the mod is done. Just do your development work directly in the relevant unzipped folder inside "Documents\BeamNG.drive\". In this case the ETKI stuff would go in "Documents\BeamNG.drive\vehicles\etki" for example. That's faster to do the work (unless you insist on doing the text editing on some other OS...) and will prevent you from struggling with packing problems until the mod is ready to distribute.

Oh, ok, Thank you so much for your helpful information. I will do my developmental work in BeamNG's document folder till it's done. And I only used Windows Explorer to pack my zips this time (Honest!). But again, thank you for your help, even if I did not get the result I wanted.

    You're welcome.

"used Windows Explorer to pack my zips this time (Honest!)"
    - In that case I feel better about your listening skills! ;-) ;-) ;-) Work on your outbound communication and we'll be on the same page.

Working out of folders is the best, you'll have a much nicer experience that way. Just be careful to remove those folders while testing the final package for your mod (the folders I instructed you to use always take precidence over zips!).

Someone else reported the same problem very recently - he said he used the built in windows functionality and he definitely had a similar problem. I've packed mods using Windows many times and I don't remember ever having a problem of that type - I wonder what the difference is? BeamNG only tolerates a narrow range of ZIP settings, and when I examined the zip from the other thread it looked compliant to me. It just didn't work.

Which Windows version do you have? (7/8/8.1/10/10-anniversary-edition)
