Extremly low FPS although my PC should be good enough

Hello everybody,


I bought the game today and when I loaded up a map I had 10 FPS on every setting except "Lowest", but that only gave me 20 FPS as well.


I have a GTX 970 and an i5-2500k and updated to Direct X11 as well. It doesn't make sense that the game is running so bad. I hope somebody can help me. The game is really awesome, but I will have to get an refund if I can't work this out.

What OS are you using because if it is windows 10 restart the game and you should be alright. Additionally make sure all drivers are up to date.

 

I use to get 60 fps, but newest update I only get 42. I did upgrade to windows 10, but not sure is it because of win 10 or newest beamng update

 

I haven't experienced any problems my self with the new update so I'm not quite sure what to tell you there.

 

Make sure you are running in "High performance mode" in the control panel power options.

Apparently that can cause issues for some people.

 

I am running in "High performance mode" already, so that can't be the problem.

edit: I am using Windows 7, in case that's of any importance.

 

Should be working fine. What resolution are you running at? Does your GPU show up properly on Speccy/DxDiag? The most recent update caused me to lose some FPS, but not that much.

 

I am using 1920x1080.
Yes, it shows properly in DxDiag and every other games works just fine for me. Even high-end games like AC:Unity that require a great GPU work good, but for whatever reason BeamNG doesn't.

The drivers are up to date as well, I just checked again.

 

Are you running the game full screen, or in boardless window?

I ask because when I'm in boardless window My fps struggles to go over 40, but when in full screen it goes up to 60 no problems.

 

I have it set to "Fullscreen" but it seems to be borderless window anyway.

 

Hello. I bought BeamNG drive yesterday, when I saw demo... I have similar problem. I have Win 10, AMD FX 6100 3,3 GHz Six Core, 8GB RAM Kingston and ATI Radeon HD 7850 2GB. My computer generating only some 15-30 FPS. I set graphic to high on 1920x1080. But I changing everything to lowest, then FPS going maybe 10 frame higher max. I have everything drivers up to date. For graphic card I have last AMD BETA driver. I see that is something not to good. Battlefield 4 on this computer going good on ULTRA settings. In main menu I have information that could be some problem with CPU cos recommended is quad core... I have six core, maybe he have problem with recognize a CPU and not to use everything cores? All cores are being used, the CPU usage is ~40%, the GPU usage goes up to 100%, but it does that for every game. I think it has something to do with the fact that the fans only start working when it reaches 60°C.

 

No thats just the fan curve, alot of new GPU's are designed to do that. It doesn't affect how they perform at all though. It seems fine usage wise though...

 

CPU usage is ~ 27% and ~ 2GB RAM (beamNG drive aplication). I don't know how I can check GPU usage... I started playing on Jungle Rock map and was 30-40 FPS when I changed car FPS fall down to 7-8 FPS.

Now I check GPU it is some 80% and CPU 40%. FPS could change when I use pick up (30-40) and this new Hiroshi (below 20 FPS) FPS is higher when I have windowed and lower when I have full screen mode. I still thinking about this 'orange (!)' problems with CPU...

 

I reinstalled the game and verified the game cache several times, but sadly it didn't help. Does anyone have another idea why it isn't working properly?
