As the title states I think that carbon fibre or fibre glass bodies would be a great addition to the game as it would be as simple (I doubt it but somebody with some know how would be capable of it) as changing the node weight of the body and other parts such as the bumpers and hood. I though do not have the knowledge to get this to work as I am not a JBeam expert, when I tried editing the node weight of the Covet (from 4.5 to about 2) I respawned it in game but it was unstable so it wouldn't let me test the difference it makes but I saw that the stock weight of the covet went from about 2250 pounds down to about 2100.. I am sure there are some people capable of doing this.

Another point is that the bodies do not even need to have the texture of carbon fibre, as most exotic cars that have carbon fibre bodies do not expose it because it is covered by paint such as the McLaren P1 and the Pagani Huayra

Thanks for reading, it would be great if this idea takes off

Carbon fiber deforms differently than metal. (iirc)

Carbon fiber shatters. I imagine it could be done. Essentially the carbon fiber pieces can bend to a certain point before fracturing. The fracturing could happen along beams. The only issue I would see is how to make it look realistic and not have a bunch of perfectly square pieces flying everywhere.

I honestly didnt think about the crumpling and how they would implement it. I just think some lighter bodies for some of the car would be cool becuase of the racecars for example we could make. If we had lighter bodies we could make an imitation of the renault espace and ford transit van formula one engined cars. How awesome would that be.

I know a couple official vehicles have carbon fiber parts. I know they don't behave like carbon fiber, but I wonder if they are lighter and stronger than metal parts.

I honestly dont think people would care very much if it didnt behave exactly like carbon fibre as it would be hard to implement the characteristics of how it bends, breaks and deforms. It would just be nice to have some lighter bodies so that we can make some faster track cars.

Faster track cars would be nice and so would be some purpose built race cars. Open wheel (Indy/Foruma 1), NASCAR style stock car with tube chassis, Le Mans Prototype style, ect.

We could also use some more official race tracks. Another road course and a small oval (<1 mile) and a big oval (2+ miles)
