Just something I want to talk about. I recently had to delete everything(mods, configs, etc.) because of an issue I had with updating to beta 0.4.0.6-dx9. It really messed up some of the deeper files; I can't download, use or find my mods or configurations. If any of you wonderful people have any advice on what I should do, please inform me. Thank you! Also, the only vehicle I could salvage was my own Offroad D-series. It's on my profile page in content. This might be a bit much to ask but, if one of you guys downloaded it(I'm not allowed) and uploaded it or sent it to me, that would be the only vehicle I would have except for the stock vehicles. Thank you if you even consider this.
Why are you "updating" in the first place? That version is the last dx9 compatible version and only meant for people with dx9 gfx cards or windows xp. If you can run the dx11 version (the normal) you should use it instead as the old dx9 version is not officially supported anymore.
Well, I'm not sure if this is helpful. But you can find a mod, and click, "Version History" You can check the date of when the update was released. And you can click download! (Not the orange button, the gray text "download")
Just to say, I think it's pretty self-explanatory. From that same menu you selected that version, choose 'NONE' instead, to go back to the normal version.
Go to Documents/BeamNG.Drive/vehicles. Are your configurations still there? (The game doesn't delete any of those on its own) Are you sure the dedicated option to make custom configuration visible in the vehicle selector isn't just disabled? (Options > User Interface)
Uh, sorry? I don't think it's possible to determine if a file is corrupted or not just by looking at it? (Unless it's something more obvious). Can you send one of those files?
I can, just wait a couple hours. I'm not using my PC right now. I can't find any of my configs. I have my configs as files but I don't know how to get them into beamng. --- Post updated --- Is there a way I can transfer mods to beamng from files into a new version?
Uh? You just said they look corrupted without actually testing/checking the files? :\ Just make sure the Documents/BeamNG.Drive/Mods folder stay where it is. Mods are always stored there by default, all versions will use that same folder (Unless you edited the startup.ini file in the game's directory)
Is there a way I can transfer mods to beamng from files into a new version I checked the files. The ones from a previous version are "intact" so that's good. I wasn't doing anything with the game directory. Is there a way I can make that previous backup work as it did before I did that "update" through Steam?
I'm completely lost as I don't understand anymore what you are trying to do, and what's your current situation with the game. Let's recap: You 'accidentally' updated to version 0.4.0.6. You now switched back to the current version (0.8.0.1). But your vehicle configuration do not work. Did you check that the setting in Options > User Interface is not disabled? The files are still there, but in a way I don't understand, you determined that the files are corrupted/intact. Question is: How did you determine that without being using your PC, as you said previously?
I have the files. They just don't work with the current version. I'm sorry for being confusing, I don't really understand how the whole file thing works. They are not corrupted(my bad choice of wording). I just want the mod files to be able to work with the current version I have updated back to.
Please follow my questions, else we are going in circles. What 'mod' file? What backup? The game doesn't make any backup of older files. If you don't have a backup, you don't have anything to revert back to.
