Hello BeamNG Community, I have been playing around with BeamNG for a while and I got thinking about the fire mechanics of this game. See, whenever a fire to a car, I find it fascinating for some reason, however I feel as if something is missing from the experience of having a car fire. I thought about it a little more and I kept thinking about realism and I think these would be awesome features to add in BeamNG: Fire spreading to other cars if they come into contact Burnt metal textures Spreading fires to foliage/surroundings Other realism examples that I can't think of at the time of the post Just thought i'd pitch this. Thanks for reading.
Burnt metal textures, rust, dirt, texture layers that go over the already existing car has been a heavily requested feature. No idea if its even possible but people already request it. As for spreading fires to foliage, i dont think that's VERY likely since the maps are their own separate world and physics would be hard to simulate this. As for fire spreadings to other cars if they come into contact, cars are not made out of wood. Its the fire and the oil that gets a fire in a car going. It wouldn't be realistic.
Same, but it might not be a good idea to bug the developers about it, they already have a lot of work to do and by the looks of it they are working on an extremely large update
if i remember correctly the fire is still work in progress, and i think it was mentioned that it can't spread to other vehicles "yet".
