Hi, it's me again! I've been working on something recently: To make the map a bit easier to use, all switches are placed as one prop (I placed them using this generator) and will be controlled from one place. Also, to make the simulation run more smoothly, only most necessary elements (point blades) are placed as vehicles, not the whole switches. If you have some suggestions, please share them here Stay tuned for more updates soon!
Working and destructible semaphores! Visual meshes and textures are based on Pitek's work (with his consent ofc) (ignore theese red point blades) About 400 beams per semaphore for now and i'll probably reduce this number over time
Completely rebuilt all tracks and switches (with radius = 300 instead of 150 or whatever it was before) and added theese tiny dwarf semaphores!
Some industrial environment here! btw. most of the resources are taken from the Industrial map (trees, buildings, etc.), somebody please tell if it's ok to post a mod with them or I have to do my own.
Great to see your progress! Most of the maps use resources from original game, it's totally fine. This method both consumes less time and makes the map size smaller (unless you copy every single asset even the ones you don't use).
Unfortunately when I was trying to migrate terrain materials to PBR versions, something went wrong and almost everything is broken now. I've been trying to fix it for past two days with no satisfying result. I hope I won't have to remake all the terrain again;v
if you just delete this text, save the map, exit and rejoin it should revert back to the old texture system
Hi! It's me again! ^^ Here are some changes from the last two weeks: I've restored old non-PBR materials from a backup and improved the terrain a bit I added some bridges and some pretty cool terrain around them! That metal bridge is based on Szakal's mesh from Sketchfab (published under CC BY license :>). Buffer stops now look much better and finally are destructible! I've also made a few semaphores improvements - added SBL (automatic block signaling) semaphores, automatic distant signals, automatic W24 signal (indicating that the train will go on the left track) and made some performance tweaks I cannot publish these passenger cars, sorry:/ btw you don't lose that much, their physics is terrible. There were also some questions about the possibility of supporting me for this work, so if you want, you can do it here ^-^ https://paypal.me/maseuko All supporters will be listed on the project page in the repository ofc Thanks for all your support!!
