Many potato users and I want to drive in the night but because our pc is rubbish, we won't be able to see anything because our lighting quality is set to lowest which means there is no illumination (like the lights being on but there is no light coming off the headlights to the road). Also, another downside of the lowest lighting quality is that when you're in the interior of the car, you actually see the lights on (shameless plug but see my Bentley Mulsanne video, that's how bad it is). What I'm requesting for is an overhaul to the lighting or some slight fixes to the lowest lighting quality to actually see light on the road at night (doesn't have to be realistic, just useful) and the removal of light showing up in the interior. And to all those who suggest turning all settings except lighting quality to lowest, then my fps drops by about 35%. Please devs, I really like this game but I want to actually have a good time playing it, rather than moaning about that I'm too broke to get a good pc.
I feel you on that. I remember what it was like starting out on a Potato a decade ago in my early teens. Something you can do for the meantime to be able to see better at night is turn your Gamma to max. Options>Display and crank Gamma all the way up.
The point of the lowest lighting setting is to be a last resort to make the game playable, your changes would make it laggier
If it isn't hard, couldn't you try to fix it? Haven't played on a potato in a while, I genuinely don't know.
He knows you're not a dev, just said it to prove a point. Anyhow, the likely reason game devs bypassed this issue in older games is probably simply due to the technical requirements of the times. Computer graphics have come a long way and, it's progression speed pretty much multiplies throughout the years.. Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone.
