I know that the guys behind BeamNG are wanting to develop engine damage and other components like Axles, Rims, etc but are you guys planned on implementing flexible drive trains or is this something you guys have already done? With that, will the vehicle bog down if you are putting the vehicle into a high gear without working your way up through the gears? This goes hand in hand with flexible drive trains.

we are working on this: It will be completely mod-able: Every vehicle has its own lua instance that controls the behavior. The user can add upon or exchange the complete drivetrain code for his modification.

Think of adding a new way the gearbox works, etc

It really is versatile, i hope you guys will love it as much as we appreciate the flexbility and easiness of this system: one CTRL+R and you can test your changes in 150ms :)

Would this mean drivetrains could be made breakable, also? Let's say I was making a large military vehicle with planetary wheel hubs, and wanted to make both the ring and pinions and wheel planetaries breakable. Possible?

Can't wait to play around with it. The work you guys are doing here is astounding.

yes, why not. You can do whatever you want to do in lua :)
I.e. disable the power output if a beam breaks.

How easy would it be for an amateur like myself to do it?

This is awesome to hear. Hopefully Gabester will make a 98 Ranger XLT 5-Speed and I could compare it to mine

One thing I noticed is that you can't break the axles in a car... I watch a lot of derbies and often you'll see a car get smacked in the rear tire and the axle will slide out after a while. If it's posi, it'll keep going with the other rear wheel assuming it doesnt' drag too much and you've got enough traction/power. Is this going to be implemented?

The axles do break, however the behavior of the differential may not be correct. But axles do break and cause a wheel to no longer receive power.

Ah, I see... Will the axles slide out when they're broken? Or will they just stay in place?

There's no sliding action simulated. I think the halfshaft just disappears when it breaks.
