Force Feedback Wheel found, disabling controller steering

Hi,

i have a bad problem with BeamNG 0.4.2.2

It had been working flawlessly with my Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2 for the last few months (default generic Windows drivers).
Today I had the "great" idea to install real Logitech drivers to enable vibration [being a gamepad, there is no other type of "Force Feedback" available].
After doing this, the steering no longer works. It says "Force Feedback Wheel found, disabling controller and keyboard steering". Of course I tried re-adding the steering in the controller settings, even with FF disabled but it simply wont work
After a short search, I found that the vibration wouldn't work anyway and reverted back to default windows driver (uninstalled all Logitech SW and removed the drivers with devmgmt.msc).

The ****ing message still appears and steering is still not working
I tried rebooting my Windows, deleting all BeamNG user data (%userprofile%\Documents\BeamNG folder) and ofc restarting the game a thousand times. Now I am out of ideas and getting pissed
What do I have to do to get it working again like before? (I don't need vibration, can I force the game to assume there is no force feedback installed? The driver should not support FF anyway...)

Can anybody please help me?
