If i might be a devil's advocate: I think that the cars have too much downforce, too much power, and too much weight. They currently stand at about 1k kilograms with nearly 1k HP and a rather slightly unrealistic downforce. Slightly lower or 3/4 downforce, cut the weight and power in half. It might end up more realistic. Also, try using a different thumbnail if a car is from a different team to if a car is something extra, like the ECS cars or the stig ones or the rally ones. It might help a little.
First: the power output is realistic, f1 engines are that powerful. The downforce is quite realistic, just watch f1 lap times. The weight however, the weight is too high, a realistic F1 is ~800kg, and this one a bit over the 1000kg. This is because beam doesn't like low node weights. Too low node weights will cause vibrations, instability and weird crashes. So it needs to be this heavy because when you remove nodes, it will crash unrealistic and have bad handling.
Are you sure it is 1000+ kg because for the latest updates I adjusted the node weights of the body and it should be closer to 800-850kg instead of 1000kg. Edit: It wieghs 874kg. Which is realistic considering that a dry F1 (no fuel or driver) weighs around 720-750kg so depending in the fuel load and driver wieght this mod is a fairly realistic weight. Only problem IMO is the ultra high grip level.
Yeah, a TURBO F1 is around that power. However AFAIK the last V8 F1 cars (the FR16 has a N/A V8) made around 700 hp. I am also slightly bothered by the ultra flat torque curve. it makes pointless to shift down almost.
I finally decided to try out the FR16 on Hirochi Raceway and it's a bit rough trying to survive each lap. Not sure if it's just the way that Hirochi has a textured style of curbing, but it really likes to eat front wings even when it feels like it should have been a minor scrape at worst, and the bridge bump kills the car randomly. When it can survive though, it's very very fast. Surprisingly I didn't find much time difference between the default configuration and the specialized tune for Hirochi. It felt like the gearing was too short for the longest straight, so I'm curious if it's meant for the short version. Final times were 0'58.235 for the specialized tune and 0'58.547 for the default version.
Hey raider, do you want to help a bit with my ibisuhu covet group b project? I have some issues with the suspension, vibrating parts and downforce setup(could be related to the suspension)
I working on something now, but i can give you some advice's if you have some problems Dr. Death engine is stronger, because beamng isn't best simulation for detailed aerodynamic in F1 car, so it generate huge aerodynamic drag
what about making the engine slightly less powerful, and giving less downforce at the same time? maybe that + lightening the car a little bit can make the handling almost the same while at the same time making the numbers match real life.
The second gear ratio seems too short on the hiroschi specialized config. It may also be just a tad bit too short on the default one as well, but that one isn't by much.
official offroad rally? like this maybe? this is using a wheels mod for all cars to have every tire ingame. This is my favorite config. ive made, still tuning suspention though. I can get it into 300+ if I don't lose control XD
