Hey guys, I know it's been a while, but it's finally here. This time I didn't respond until it was actually finished. The next era of F1 cars has caught up with me, and there are still a few things I'd like to refine further. But I've decided to save them for future projects. In my opinion, the FR26 is better than the FR17 in every way. Due to the time and resources I've invested in the project, I've decided to make this mod a paid mod for now. This may change in the future, but I can't guarantee it. I hope you understand. I invite you to watch the trailer, and if you decide to purchase it, check out the post on Gumroad. https://www.projectnextrace.com/fr26
Well, it's not like I was working on it all the time, more like 4-5 shorter periods, but I always had it in the back of my mind that I wanted to finish it someday.
I wouldn't call it dev-quality; it depends on your definition. But it's definitely a big leap over FR17, and personally, it's high enough quality to enjoy using. This is the best of my skills, and considering how few projects of this type have been launched since FR17, I wanted to finish this project before the current F1 season. and as it says on gumroad mod has not been extensively tested yet, and it's possible there will be a few bugs in the initial versions.
Pretty good mod overall; definitely miles ahead of the FR17 in terms of quality. It handles as an F1 car should on gamepad and keyboard (haven't tried out wheel yet), and has vastly improved crash physics (actual survival cell, sidepod damage, front + rear wing elements, etc.). Although there are improvements that could be made with the crashing (sidepods are a bit too easy to break off; rear tyres may break off too easily from the wheel hubs), sound (doesn't sound too much like an actual F1 V6), and customization options (missing two IRL liveries), I do believe these can be remedied in the future. (8/10; would recommend if you want the highest quality F1 mod for Beam so far, though I understand if the €6 price tag may turn some people away)
