I'd like to see a vehicle tracking and zoom option in free-camera mode. So the camera would automatically keep centered on the vehicle while maintaining its own position.

...this basically sounds like the standard camera, it is fixed on the vehicle, you can swing it around in all directions, and has zoom in AND zoom out features.

or you mean a tri-pod camera with vehicle tracking? I guess its possible, slight possible currently with the mouse, but ahh I see...

basically, yea.. just the current free camera, that once in place has an option to center-lock onto the vehicle. so the concentration can be on targeting that ramp, not also trying to manually follow with the camera at the same time - so when you fly away, the camera focus follows.

a further option could also be a camera zoom lock - a zoom level that stays once set, regardless of how far the vehicle travels - but the camera itself remains fixed where you left it.

def...at first I was like "omg a newb"

now I get it, and that would make for some awesome chase/action vids, since theres 35934958 people that play BeamNG and make "professional" videos. it would add a different perspective for sure. good suggestion actually!! wondered this myself, in so many words previously.
