Front brakes not working and steering speed inconsistent

I have my node coupling and arm setup properly (from what I can tell). The same brakes work fine on my rear wheels, so I don't understand why I can't get them working on the front wheels. The suspension setup is near identical as well. The properties are all the same save for a small difference in brake torque.

My second issue is that when using a keyboard, it the steering moves more slowly to the right than to the left. When I release the key, it re-centers from the right faster than it steers.
