I know this has probably been asked before, but I know fuel is supposed to be realistic in Beam, but I tried an experiment one day where I put the car in neutral and shoved the gas all the way down, left for sbout three or so hours and came back, the gas guage didn't move at all. Is there some setting I don't know of to make gas consumption work properly?

    Thanks in advance.

Fuel is only consumed while the car is moving. It's not the most accurate, but it works right now.

Even when the car is moving I don't loose any, and if I do every car must be getting like 200mpg

you need to pull up an app that has all of the details of the fuel consumption, not just the gauge on the tacho/rev gauge

The cars burn gas while you're driving them. Takes a lot of it to make a noticeable difference on the gauge though. Think about how much driving you can get off of a tank in real life, and then how long you usually go before resetting the car in Beam.

I drive Beam as a simulator. So I drive rather carefully and rarely crash and reset. The longest I ran a car before resetting it was two hours.

Now this was the D-35. The Dually variant. Now my real truck gets around 19 mpg on a V6 twin turbo setup on average roads under a light pedal, no hard gassing. In game, a D-35 with a V8 motor shouldn't act like it's getting 100 mpg and never run any bit lower. Two hours in my truck runs down about a quarter or more of the tank.

I guess I'm severely confused lol

Well, pull up the fuel economy numbers and we'll see. Add the Trip Computer app to your screen and click it until it gets to Avg Fuel Economy. Then drive around a little bit and see what it says.

Gas tanks are pretty big in this game, and unless you're romping on the car you will get decent gas mileage because we're assuming no wind, very little mechanical resistance and every car is considered "factory new" when spawned. Do a high-speed run in either the drag Barstow/Moohawk or Bolide 390 GTR and you'll see the fuel gauge at around 90% after a few minutes absolutely maxed out at top speed.

I'm fairly certain fuel economy is pretty close to real life in this game.
