Hi, i'm making a mod based off the Covet, and when i test it ingame, the fuel tank slides about, not just a little, but across the whole back end i've got screenshots if that helps
is this what you mean by the jbeam? if it is, i see the issue, i didnt check that. How would i go about fixing this? (the fueltank is in the correct position now) im kinda a noob at vehicle mod-making (im better at reskinning)
yes i did modify the mesh, but which transform do i apply? Sorry, its just that im bad at vehicle mod making and the introduction is a bit confusing since im just editing the covets appearence and some bodywork for my mod not building it from scratch
Open Blender, import your custom mesh, select your mesh in Object Mode and hit CTRL+A. Select "Apply" -> "Rotation and Scale" from the menu. Tick all three boxes on the left. Export your mesh again.
i did that and when i re-exported my mesh and replaced the old one, the steering wheel goes through the bottom and pedals have gone way out of place is it completley destroyed or is this fixable? but atleast the fueltank is in place and doesnt slide.
I'm afraid you selected more meshes than necessary, and applied transforms to props too. Do as he suggests. Game supports multiDAE, you can have your custom meshes in a separate collection while leaving the official files completely unaltered. Game will load meshes from both.
so, to multiDAE, do i just put it in my mods folder or do i have to do something else before it works like a new folder in the zip file?
Well, it should work, provided you're building the folder structure correctly and reference the custom mesh in your jbeam file.
now that i put the fueltank as a seperate mesh, it doesnt slide around anymore. This mod would'nt be working without all your help! Thanks everyone
