Hey Guys, I've had some time today and wanted to learn something about how those new Apps work. So I decided to do a gauge that shows the actual fuel consumption, driven distance and average consumption. I did not know anything about Javascript etc. , but the Code for it was a bit harder than I would have expected Well, I tihink the app reached a good and useful state. The newest Version 0.2 is nearly complete. In the future I might delete the Reset Distance button again und replace it with the app noticing the need to reset itself. Also I am thinking of another way to Display it, like BMW Cars did it in older days with their analog gauge , or like they do today in their digital gauges Of course, if you have any Suggestions or Problems, let me know! [ V0.2 ] - Added Reset Distance button ---------------- [ V0.1 ] UPDATE! I found some time to work on the App, and I think it got to a really usefull state Added: - U.S. / Metrical Unit Switch Improved: - Behaviour of the Current Consumption - Behaviour of the Average Consumption Have fun! ---- [V0.0] - Initial Release
Re: [WIP] FuelMeter Yup A car that does not move will consume infinite fuel for 100km But I think I will do some work on that, showing Litres per Hour when not driving. Also the next Update should come with a less nervous jumping numbers in the current consumption. Maybe even the Miles / Gallons set ability.
Re: [WIP] FuelMeter Excuse if the question looks stupid, but how install this kind of file ? I've searched in the game and don't found something looks like UI mod.
Re: [WIP] FuelMeter Thanks for this response ! It might be useful to say it maybe in the description or in a pined topic.
I found some things when I played, maybe it is fixed now because it was with the previous version. -the UI take too much place and we can't reduce it -when we reload the vehicle, the fuel is set to 100% but the distance done is not reset. So the average consumption is false. ...and that's all ! Great job, simple but do what I want
Size should be better now, but I might enable resizing for it Resetting the drive distance.. You are very right. I just forgot about that. I have added a reset option now, because I can not tell whether the car has changed or not or whether it has been resettet. I will upload that updatet version in the next 30 Minutes. Maybe I can find a way to do that automatically by checking whether there is more fuel in the car than before, which means it must have been resettet. Might be a feature in a future update
First of all: I love this app, since I'm a nut about keeping fuel and distance stats in real life too Buuut, i noticed that, when you pause the physics, the odometer keeps counting. Probably at the speed which you're currently travelling. Afterwards the Distance is too large, and the average constumption too high...
Hey, nice to hear that you like the app! And, yes you are right, it is unable to recognize changes in the time. I am learning for my exams actually, so I could not try to get that working. But in some days my exams will be finished and I will try to find out whether I can get some information that tells my app which timescale BeamNG is running at. But I can't promise that it is going to work in the future Not having any Idea how to get the slow-mo information atm
ive noticed its quite slow to update is there any way to supercharge it ? but otherwise well done as I thought this sought of thing would already be in game as I was missing it from the tech demo
The fuel gauge does go down realistically as the cars burn fuel, but it takes a while to see any noticeable difference.
I wanted to point out an issue. When I let off the gas while moving the gas mileage goes to 0mpg which skews the average mpg when cruising a high speeds.
