Hello and welcome, to what is hopefully a fun series of threads about the BeamNG vehicles & their unique traits which makes them stand out from other in-game cars! Depending on the community reception, there will be more threads like this, especially for upcoming vehicles. After a small 2 year hiatus from my side, we're now on episode 11, so I think it's going well Here is some fun facts about the Nine: The Nine is the oldest ("pre-war") vehicle to be implemented into the game with model years ranging from 1933 to 1934 It's the first vehicle to have an unequippable battery which can be found underneath the passanger floor as well as in the boot on the Coupé & Roadster body styles: The frame as well as suspension components can be coloured in different ways: It's the first vehicle to feature a flathead engine design for both engines it comes with; 2.2L I4 & 3.8L V8: It's the first to feature a totally body-less (altough hidden) config akin to old timey race cars: Comes with 2 chopped body variants, which beats the Burnside with its singular chopped body variant: The headlights can be changed to googly eyes which also feature 4 emotion states: On Reddit, a thread sparked controversy after someone noticed the Nine's taillights supposedly feature Phillips screws which are not period correct One of the radiator cap variants features a chrome noodle ornament which is used only on the 'Extended Panel Van' config used by J.D. Rocknels for selling "Fine canned Macaroni and Beans" One of the tyre types that can be equipped on the Nine are wheel covers which are usually used on spare wheels; it's a "feature", not a bug The Nine features period correct vintage tyre sizes as well as tyre thread One of the configs called 'Sharp Dressed Speedster' is a reference to the song "Sharp Dressed Man" from 'Eliminator' album by ZZ Top in which a vintage car of very similiar design is shown: The 'Sundown Coupé' config is a reference to the car from 'American Graffiti' film by George Lucas: One of the shock absorber types on the Nine are friction shock absorbers unlike mono/twintube shock absorbers used in later years It's also the first vehicle in game to feature a 'radius arm beam axle' suspension The grille as well as front frame crossmember feature a hole for a crank to handstart the engine Taillights have STOP writing inside them Feel free to add some fun facts of your own Made in collaboration with @CaptainZoll
the bruckell nine is now tied with the hirochi sbr4 for having the shortest model name (the fcv does not count as that is merely the name of the platform)
If you disconnect the steering column from the steering rack, usually by separating the body from the frame, you will completely loose steering. First official vehicle to be able to loose your license plate in a crash. The clutch and brake linkages are actually animated. (just found this out today) It's the first vehicle to have the driveshaft realistically disconnect from the transmission and not just disappear, although the driveshaft on the custom frame will still disappear. It's called the Bruckell Nine because it's Bruckell's 9th model and it's also available in 9 different body styles.
First car to feature a modelled mechanism on the inside of the drum brakes. The "bootlegger" config's description is also a referrence to Copperhead Road. The first car to ever feature a proper gasser configuration.
- It's manual transmissions are the first in the game to have a non-synchronized first gear. This means that shifting to first you have to either be stopped or match the revs right otherwise it'll grind. - It features fully modelled brake lines(both lines between the frame/wheels and ones routed inside the frame)
Just recently found out this best little easter egg In the interior panels tab (coupe body) theres an option to equip accessories called 'Hotroddie' that puts a somewhat detailed yet low poly diecast of a '32 Ford Coupe hot rod in the back The cool thing is, you can somewhat faithfully recreate it with ingame parts
