I updated to the version 0.11 and all the mods with it through the repository, and noticed the game takes way longer to do anything, loading maps, cars, opening world editor, selecting objects in the world editor, pausing the game and so on and also freezes and crashes regularly.
So i decided to remove all the mods and the game works fine.
I didn't have any problems with the older version 0.10 everything was running smoothly and fast with the same mods. So i guess the fault is in this repository system for mods, which is an ok idea awfully executed which also makes using mods outside of the original beamng site really difficult.
is there a fix to make the 0.11 version as good and smooth as version 0.10 and all the mods with it?

    ....

Using mods is the exactly same thing as before.
    The repository is an addition.
If you want to install mods from other places, you do it the same way as you did before.

Make sure your mods finished downloading first, before doing anything.
If they were still downloading while you were doing other stuff, then the slowdowns would have been normal.

i used the mods with the repository while doing nothing else.
i tried using the mods as usual but they don't appear in the list nor the cars or the levels. does it mean that i have to do a clean reinstall, if so what would be the most effective procedure?
    thank you

Explain, with all the details, how you are installing those mods please.

i put the mod folders here
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\BeamNG.drive\content\levels
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\BeamNG.drive\content\vehicles
the same folders where the original .zip files of the game are located.
i used the same method for many months

Yes i tried the mods from the beamng site and they work this way, but other mods from other websites they say to copy the mod folder into the steam folder which worked in the previous version but not in the current one, is there a solution to make them work on 0.11 or i have to wait for them to update?

That's a problem with those mods.
I don't get why they keep packing them in the wrong way since it doesn't not work.

What you need to get them working in repacking them so that are a ZIP that have a folder structure similar to the other mods.

    ie.
    ZIP

    |
    v

'Vehicles' or 'Levels' folder (depending on what the mod is)

    |
    v

    'Mod Folder'

    |
    v

    'Mod Files'

OR, unsuggested, you can put them in Documents/BeamNG.Drive/LEVELS or VEHICLES folder simply.
Note that they could get removed if you press the Clear Cache button.

Works like a charm althought i have a question, another way i got it to work is instead of the zip put them in a folder with the same name inside the unpacked folder:
    C:\Users\zentaReturns\Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods\unpacked\mycar\vehicles\mycar\FILES
this is what i did originally before posting this thread but the problem i encountered was that the game was slow and was easy to crash (i had less then 200 mods). I will now try your method and see the result with all the mods installed and report back to see if there is any difference and if the game runs properly.
Does the number of mods installed affect the game performance? if so what would be a safe number?

    That will work too.

I hardly believe that the crashes were related to that.
There is no difference for the game if it's a ZIP or it's in the unpacked folder.
    Must have been something else.

    Yes, it could.
More mods could make the game take longer to load (having to load x mods), and slow downs other parts (ie. the vehicle selector, if it has to load x additional vehicles).
No safe number, it depends from PC to PC.

I understand slowdowns for the vehicle selector and other parts where the game lists the levels and vehicles but the slowdowns are reletad to other things like:
-it takes way longer to open the world editor even when i didnt spawn any mods, sometimes doesnt open at all
-when you pause the physics the game sometimes does not respond or freezes for a little while
-in the world editor in whatever map when i click on any object the game freezes for 4 to 5 seconds before actually selecting it
and other stuff, all of this wasn't present in the 0.10, happens only when i put all the mods from the 0.10 to the 0.11 (in the correct way), the mods do work but the game takes a serious hit in terms of performance, could it be related to some kind of bad install?
