The drag Moonhawk and Barstow are fast, but don't we need an old american muscle dragster that is FAST! ? Allow me to explain. The drag Moonhawk and Barstow have big engines, but not big enough. A 400ci-450ci engine is what the current dragsters are packin', but some drag cars can get into the 650ci range. I am talking about adding a 600+ci supercharged V8! Of course such an engine would need some bigger rear tires and wheels, new rear body panels to accommodate those wheels, and some updated drag suspension. Just imagine the speed of such a monster. The drag cars could also have updated fascias, lettering, interiors, skins, bumpers, and hoods. That way they would fit in better with the heavily modified drag cars of today. How about a Gasser? The Burnside, Barstow, or Moonhawk would make a great gasser. Something with modified paint jobs, suspension, engines, and body panels. What do you think?
I've actually tried ripping the files for the D15's beam front axle frame and putting it under the body of the burnside (The burnside and D15 have almost identical wheelbases) but I didn't have the coding know-how to get it working. However, I don't think we can put a hemi in a tri-5 in game.
I tried to rip through the files and put a Gavril V8 in an ETK 800 Series, but I wasn't smart enough.
More dedicated race cars would be nice. Having the game set up engine swap based on engine bay size would allow for you to create an engine directly and maybe have the game directly measure what car can fit the engine and allow you to swap it? Then i would love to have even bigger superchargers, and slightly bigger drag tires, and have the burnside finally have a drag variant. Maybe once engine tunning gets an update there can be an option to change the connecting rods or the crankshaft to allow for bigger stroke and bigger displacement?
The Burnside could also have a race variant, with a new paint job and aftermarket race tuned parts so it can compete with newer cars. It could have a new frame and suspension that gives it better maneuverability and speed. In general we could use more modifications for the older vehicles that is reminiscent of hot rodding, drag racing, street racing, restoration mods, and pro touring vehicles.
Agree. Would love a drag and a NASCAR modified-burnside. Moonhawk and the Gavril could do great with some Nascar editions too, since there are already some oval tracks yet no mod car of that kind. I overall also think that the burnside has little to no modifications already. Could Street Rods 1/2 be an inspiration? Because maybe 1920's/1930's cars would work in the game
Wait, why would we want a race variant when we COULD have a bootlegger variant? While the Burnside isn't from the heyday of moonshine running, there was still a lot going on in the back hills of America. It would be hopped up with speed parts, it would have a hidden tank for the cargo, and maybe even a special surprise for Johnny Law.
I did so already but took it down because another forum member stole my work and used it as his own http://www.beamng.com/threads/a-is-multi-shop.21603/
Thank you, but this isn't JUST about the Burnside drag. This is also about the Moonhawk and Barstow too. OP is talking about getting hot rods into the game, which I wholeheartedly support. The Moonhawk and Barstow drag cars are 10 or 11 second cars. In terms of purpose-built streetable drag cars, that's pretty mediocre. There are street legal cars that run less than 7 seconds in the quarter mile.
