I am planning on making a heavier duty d-series so here's a thing I wrote.

    Gavril D55

This is the Ultimate Truck Made For Work!

Its Story: The Gavril D55 was a limited production vehicle made for commercial use. Many companies bought this and turned it into a flatbed or dump bed vehicle. It was produced from 1989 - 2003. Gavril designed and produced the 6.9L V8 for this beast. In 1990 you could get it in an automatic format, in 1992 you had the option to add the 6.0L diesel designed by Navistar. In 1997 Gavril redesigned again the D-Series, and Gavril was working on making the D55 the best truck on the market and kept producing the D55 till 2003 for other vehicles.

    Features:

    Super Heavy Duty Front / Rear Axles ( 2WD & 4WD )

    10 Lug Wheels ( 2WD & 4WD )

    D55 Side Badge

Long / Extra - Long Flatbed ( For Upfit Body )

    Early / Late Diesel Dashboard

    Upfit Exhaust Dump

    Base Model / Deluxe Model

    Future Updates:

    Dump Box

    Brand Skins

    7.5L V10 Engine

Heavy Duty 6 Speed Manual Transmission

Short / Long Bed Utility Bed ( Dually Included )

    10 Lug Wheel Spare

    Snowplow

    5 Wheel Hauler

    Trash Compactor

    Box Dump

    6.0L Navistar Badge

    Late Crank Window Panels

    Spaced Out Parking Lights

    Wheel Simulators

    Working Parking Lights

    Rare Head Lights

    Utility Light

I'd suggest not using the Wiki as editing has been disabled, thus the production years of the D-Series are outdated along with other bits of information.

this mod is about as close as you're gonna get for now. As for the dump upfits, that's something that I've been wanting for a long time for the D-Series. We'll just have to wait and see for that to come to fruition.

Just wanted to give a little criticism on this part of your story (mainly logistics), but I don't think they would discontinue it knowing that it's supposed to be a pretty big company, and there doesn't seem to be any implications that would suggest they'd have to make or break it. Plus, if we take the Super Duty for example (and since you're basing it off those, it's more than fair enough to compare it), those trucks were very adaptable and still sold well in their market so they wouldn't really get rid of them any time soon.
