Unless you want a car which looks like the picture I showed in post #130, another wheelbase and so another frame is needed... I wasn't planning on making another frame but it looks like everyone wants to put a short bed behind the crew cab :p

If you drive in the water with it installed, it lets you drive further into the water. I don't really know how else to word it.

Awesome man!! Can you please make all the versions come in manual? When they come with manual they also have auto options.

Which one is the on with the big bed and wide fenders? I can't find it.

    How would that work?

No, all it does is raise the air intake on the car so when you enter the water you don't hydro-lock the engine. When engines take in water they are pretty much destroyed, they don't just stall, you'll usually bare minimum bend a connecting rod, usually it will snap entirely, the crankshaft may break, blow a head gasket or the head entirely, if the crankshaft remains spinning with a broken conrod on it then that tends to rip holes out of the crank case. It is an absolute no-no to let an engine take in water.
Drag of water slows you down too. A snorkel can't change that.

Saw a Chrysler 300 that went through too deep of a puddle... Bottom of the block blew out in a square foot just about. I thought it was pretty impressive myself. Kids, water doesn't compress. :)

    The more you knooooowwwww

Getting back on topic, I have a feeling that AR will make some changes to the chassis/frame of the D-Series after he releases the next update for it. If that is the case, then I have a few ideas in mind. First of all, how about a D15 station? Second, more variations of the station. I was thinking something that's slightly shorter than the pre-existing station because there's no rear doors, a shorter, more SUV-like version of the station, a 2-door variation of that, and a Ford Bronco-like truck/SUV thing. Something like these:

    SUV:

    2-Door SUV:
    1280px-Chevrolet_Tahoe_LS_2-door.jpg

    Ford Bronco:

And if that's not the case, I just realized that if you combine the regular bed with the flareside bed, you have a bed more similar with a 90's stepside bed. Something like these:

    30799005002.343642464.IM1.04.565x421_A.562x421.jpg

And if neither of those things happen, how about a brush guard? I'm thinking the one that Lt. Smell My made for his (now old) Silverado mod would look great on the D-Series. Something like this:

I also have ideas for other parts as well, including tonneau covers, bed caps, and exhaust pipes.

Hell yeah. That's exactly what I wanted. Don't need another frame. Least not yet.

This mod is a lot of fun, very enjoyable. Thanks for making it.

I had a weird issue when I got the rear bumper caught in the dually... It seems to spazz out due to collisions I think and slowly get bigger (especially when driving) and destroy the whole truck untill the game can't take it anymore and resets everything. Fun though. :p

Hmmm, this is new to me. Thanks for mentioning. Are you sure it's the front bumper? The screens you provided make it seem to be the rear bumper.

Oh yes, sorry, it is the rear bumper. My memory messed up on me.

Sorry for the double post, but I was wrong about the bumper again. It is the rear wheel well/fender. Managed to cause it again and the same thing happened as last time.

I am sure of it being the fender this time, if you look at a couple of the screens above the rear bumper is still there while the fender is spazzing out.

Don't worry. Also, that's a very well known bug with this mod.

The stepside bed's tailgate has a screwed up texture thing.

Re: Gavril D15/D25/D35 Stepside, Flatbed, Crewcab, Station

    Finally some progress to report;

some may already have seen the improved wedgeback (autobed) and the new rollback in other threads, I've been busy improving them. Fixed some bugs, improved/cleaned some meshes and jbeams, some were a real mess. Added doors to the station (modified van doors) and added newer looking dually fenders. And because I was working with the duallies, I made a new style stepside. What do you guys think? The new duallie/stepside fenders look a bit simple, but looking at some reference pics of early 1990's Chevy and Ford step/flare sides it should be about right. Notice I've only adjusted the right hand side of the stepside.
And I'm not sure if I should fix the cab-protector of the rollback to the frame or to the deck. The latter one is more common and more easy to drive a car on, but the first one is able to double as a ramp :p

In reply to some other suggestions; Gabester mentioned he's going to build a stretched D15 frame with dual rear wheels, an extended cab, and a tow truck. Besides the Roamer is already in development stage. I think it's a huge waste of time to create those mods if Gabester himself is going to make them and I really don't wan't to cut the ground underneath his feet.

And tonneau covers are already in this mod :p Maybe not for all beds though, I'm not sure.

I think they all look great! I also agree with you on the extended d-15, since gabe's doing it.

Good luck with it all! :)

Great job. Were you able to fix the clipping issues between the duallies and the fenders?

It was probably the selfcollission of the duallies. I changed that already a long time ago and I haven't been able to reproduce it. Do you know if it only occurs in the experimental build?
