    With West Coast USA out, and all of my other projects destroyed in 0.11,
    I figured it was about time this thing came out of the darkness of my hard drive;

    screenshot_01070.png

    I started it in October, and recently got a ton of quality work done on it after a month of not working on it. Since its my only working mod project as of today, I figured I would finish this car so I can move on to fixing stuff and not let this beauty go to waste.

    If you haven't noticed yet, its based on a C3 Corvette, with some changes.

    Mechanically, It's similar to a real C3 Corvette, which is the main point of making this.
    It features the Corvettes signature transverse leaf spring and trailing arm suspension in the rear, and its subsequent handling characteristics;

    screenshot_01072.png
    (Don't be alarmed at the weird looking suspension components, Idk what happened here, but the JBeam is behaving properly and is positioned correctly when under a weight load. Also the hub mesh is missing, but that just needs to be added in game.)

    Up front, while not 100% accurate to a C3 Corvette, it features a highly edited Barstow Independent Front Suspension;
    screenshot_01073.png
    Which, is of similar design to the C3 Corvettes IFS, which is why I even used it in the first place.
    (Note that I need to finish adding in the flexbodies for the suspension here too.)

    On the interior, I've made the bigger changes, most of which are currently in game

    screenshot_01074.png

    For one, it uses the Barstow's gauge face-plate set, meaning that there are only 4 gauges on the center console instead of 5 or 6. This was more of a convenience thing than anything.

    GlowMaps also work;

    screenshot_01065.png screenshot_01066.png

    The other big difference are the doorpanels.

    The interior is meh, not that great, but really the whole point of the mod is that it's adding a whole new vehicle sub-type. So I hope you can forgive me on my difficulties modeling a car interior on this one.

    I still have some pieces to add in as you can obviously tell by the gigantic hole in the center console where the shifter should be.

    Percentage complete;

    • JBeam; 60% (Need front clip, engine bay stuff, and deformation tweaking.)

    • Model; 88% (Still have a few smaller things to model.)

    • UVs/Textures; 20% (Interior is the only thing mostly UV unwrapped so far.)
    screenshot_01071.png

    I still have a ton of stuff to do on this, but I am chipping away at it nightly. I may or may not post progress daily, but we will see. Do not panic if you see something missing, its not done yet.

    Credits;

    Mmm...because its a Stingray of sorts, and its a run on the C3... maybe Gavril Shark S7? May not have much of a ring to it, but it feels like a real close run onto the name Corvette Stingray C3.

    Or the Gavril Mako, cause of the corvette concept car.

    Liking it so far hopefully you do it justice.

    I think that's the best name suggestion. It's what I'd go with.

    I was trying to avoid using references to the Mako shark concept car, but you have a valid option there.

    Hmm, Didn't think of it that way, but Chevrolet never really had a badge engineered version of the Corvette. Will add to the poll.

    Again trying to avoid direct references to the Mako Shark due to potentially being not allowed up on the mods page to copyright. Ik it sounds crazy, but it is a risk I just don't really want to take, though I did think that one through before you suggested it.

    It has a ring to it, and sounds like a good viable option. I have some time before I have to make the emblems, so I will see what comes out of this think tank.

    Tonight I am going to do some modeling work on the engine bay stuff, and in turn JBeaming. I really need a radiator in this thing, as for the test engine I am using (Invisible in screenshots,) overheats way to quick to do any extensive driving testing.

    Looks great. Something along the lines of GT/Sport would be a nice name IMO. Maybe just "Gavril Sport" or name it after a city/town like the Barstow is.

    @Driv3r1142 If you want to keep the idea of a name that's similar to Stingray, I'd suggest looking through the names of other Batoideas. It's probably what I'd do. ;)

    That's somewhat the idea I was going along, another sea-creature...

    Huh...I forgot that concept existed, but like I said, something water-based would be cool, though Vendetta is a little cool, though at the same time, it sounds a little classy for the corvette, like a Rolls Royce in a way.

    I will consider it.

    I am not at the stage for configs yet though, so that will be awhile before I have to think about it.

    Of-course not! :p We're gonna be driving an Ivan Lochov special model, powered by a 2013 Lada parts box ;)
    Liek dis;

    screenshot_01043.png

    jk Yes I will add the front.

    I am working middle to rear right now, then I will get the main stuff that mounts to the front of the frame aside from the suspension, then I will mount the front clip.

    I will have that on there by the end of the week hopefully... Here's how it looks in blender;

    920816c03c4d141c49d598ee87b58c2e.png

    I need to redo the area with the 2 holes, It should be very different than it is. But I can do that, and I will do that before I put it in game :p
