Busted sunshell, I'd almost bet money on it. Is there any kind of a clunk as well? The part itself is only like $50, but you'd have to go pretty deep in the trans to get to it, basically just get a new trans.
Lol you way overpaid for that pos. My car has been great. Except for it just started spewing oil out of the cap onto the valve cover.. Maybe my shitty ebay catch can is pressurizing the crankcase? Or just crappy 30 year old seal.
Definitely a busted/stripped sunshell. It's strangely silent though. No weird noises. You always say that, fuck off.
Well then, If I can get past all the Elf worship, I think I might like Iceland quite alot. Anyway, Remember the onboard air compressor I ordered on the 11th, then got the Engrish email about? Well I finally received confirmation that it has arrived! In Hong Kong. That's fucking brilliant. Also, the O'Riellys store in the next town north of me seems to have hired one of the clone potato soldiers from Doctor Who, He's very short, very round, and very angry. And like all good parts store lackeys, when I asked him for an oil pump for a 1989 Ford 460, it was imperative that he knew whether it was 4wd or 2wd, and what trim level it was. I know the computer will ask for it, but I'm sure most people would be capable of figuring out what is germane and what isn't.
I don't remember any onboard air compressor, what kind/brand did you get? I've been thinking about OBA for my pickup.
It's an Audew 3 gallon tank and compressor combination thing, It's cheap and Chinese, but it's simple enough, if it messes up, I'll just rebuild it and then it will probably be better than it was before. It was $125, you can't hold out that much hope. Also, if anyone has the Velocity channel, go there, there is some kind of Top Gear-esqe trio thing on right now that is sponsored by Toyota, they've got a Tundra, a Taco, and a 4-Runner going the length of Vietnam.
Went to a VW Camper Van day today. There were some neat vehicles there. Lots of Mums that have been dragged out to look at cars on Mothers Day too xD
I had to pull the engine out of one of these things working at the Porsche shop. The shifter throw was long as hell. It was a resto project by a member of famous new york sports team I don't care about. If you know what your doing, the motor comes out of that thing in 10 minutes. Took me 30.
Kinda would like that black Mercedes/Unimog thing in BeamNG, also it would be nice to park next to any big pickup which thinks it's bad ass, that thing re-defines bad ass --- Post updated --- Those old VW's were designed to be quick to service, there was quite bit of thought put to that, I think that plug change was faster when you dropped engine. I really like this old video too, compare that to anything modern where half a day is not enough:
