By leaving them alone. They have been on the verge of bankruptcy for the last 30 years, always in need of a saviour.
Something new i learned this week. post 1986 Pontiac Parisienne Looks exactly like the caprice but with Pontiac badges and steering wheel. Sadly couldn't find much info about them except they were specially ordered by a dealer ship in Saudi Arabia since the car became popular over there. This one is a 1990 example.
Can anyone tell me what exactly the point of the Civic sedan is? Is the Accord not selling well enough so they threw this in the mix? Like, why does it exist..
Also why is it bigger than a Cobalt sedan, the Civics are like a middle size car now, it might as well be the Accord.
The sedan version of the Civic has been more or less a staple in their range since the debut of the nameplate. It's significantly smaller than the Accord. Both have grown considerably through generations... if anything, we should ask ourselves what the point of the Accord is.
https://paultan.org/2017/12/15/toyota-gr-super-sport-concept-set-for-tokyo-debut/ A new TGR concept will appear at next year's Tokyo Auto Salon. It looks a bit wonky IMO.
I'm gonna assume the Arabs had tons of Pontiac badges and decided to slap the remaining inventory into Chevy Caprices and sell them as "Pontiac Parisiennes".
I think they had so much freedom because of the profit Jeep currently brings into FCA. They just let them loose so they could design the best cash cow possible.
