Everything that doesn't fit in other categories. And questions, of course. --- Post updated --- My first question for you is: what should I get a rating on when it's time to fly?
Complex and IFR, then Commercial, don't get a multi, seaplane, etc. rating until then; that way you get those ratings as a commercial pilot and can make mucho profit from them. Edit: But start with a PPL.
k, our contry provides us with an actual variety of planes to get a rating on (as it turned out). We have K-10 Swift, C172, Diamond DA42 etc. what is the one i should go for?
Never heard of the Swift, C172 is a pretty solid option, I flew the smaller C150 for a while myself, but as for the Diamond; you're looking at some serious money investment right there, and you won't get anything more from it than you would from the 172.
I didn't look up rent rates for that aircraft. Furthermore, the older the airplane is, the less it costs to rent or buy(not an option) it. So in 3 years you... still have the same price. It's a rather new aircraft. I just wanted to ask whether there are some different options. I think I will go with planes which have their production roots up to 70's, price for them is extremely small- 19ish grand for a 1967 C172.
I was an extreme case. I bought my first plane-a Cessna 152 floatplane in mint condition-from an old friend for $1000. Now, that was way back in the day, but hey, it's still a fantastic deal. As for your case, I think you've got the right idea, but don't be afraid to shop around.
That can be our avatar. --- Post updated --- New poll! Vote and then share your thoughts about why you picked what you did.
777x -- Because Boeing. Btw; the 727 prototype is supposed to fly into Seattle today to be parked in the museum, I had intended to make a pilgrimage over there to watch, but some things got in my way so sad.
Well I've certainly been EXTREMELY busy for the past week. I am now trying to cram in all my checkride prep. I actually have The Ride scheduled for March 18th!!! I can't wait to get this over with!
Good luck and clear skies to you! And don't forget to get some sleep! At least two hours are required!
Try to relax; trying to make a perfect flight will compound issues and frustrate you. My advice; study well the day before, have a good dinner and a drink (helps you sleep -- just don't go overboard, and make sure to have a 12 hour gap, and no sleep aids), get some good sleep. In the morning; get a good breakfast and a cup of coffee, and show up early. That's what I do before a checkride/review anyways.
I'll definitely try some of that. Thanks for the tips! I actually just completed a simulated checkride today, and I did pretty well. This instructor is confident that I'll be ready by the 18th.
Wish you luck on the checkride! Regarding to avatar: 777, cuz one of the best commercial aircrafts. And oh, it's beautiful. Idk why, but Boeing aircraft seem to be the only ones I like(commercial aviation). None of the Airbus' and bombardier's planes are close to them IMO. Like TG's coolness stand, it has nothing to do with performance or comfort. It's Boeing, therefore it's cool.
Thanks! And I agree with you on that. Boeing rules, and the main reason they do it for me is because of their ability to be hand-flown for a whole flight. When Boeing gets automated, I just might quit my airline job (assuming by that time I would be at that point).
So, now that the commercial is out, I can talk to you guys about this. What do you guys think of Boeing's new Flight Deck Fuel Advisor App? It provides real time data to the cockpit like a fuel efficiency gauge on a Prius. I would like to hear your thoughts on it, even if you have only watched the ad. Do you think it is at least an interesting concept?
Never heard of this sorcery, sounds good to me though! Anything that can help with fuel burn is a plus in my book, especially if it helps with situational awareness, at least as far as fuel is concerned.
I agree with you, RedHorizon. But I don't have TV, so I haven't heard of it either. --- Post updated --- I agree with you, RedHorizon. But I don't have TV, so I haven't heard of it either.
