1. Probably the name of the platform that the Vivace and Tograc sit on. 2. As far as my memory goes, no it hasn't.
I came up with an idea for a revised Plague, Inc. Spoiler One key difference in Plague, Inc.: Strained is that you progress by creating new strains (new ones can also occur randomly). These will occur simultaneously with the old one(s), rather than immediately taking over, and the game mode you are playing determines how quickly you can create them. (Bacteria mode, for instance, is somewhat slower than Virus mode.) When you create a strain, you either start from scratch at the beginning of the game, or you base it off of an existing one. Creating new strains sets back research into cures or vaccines (more on that later) and can help your disease spread. The next main additions are recovery and immunity. The first one is fairly straightforward: people can recover from your disease. In this case, the number of infected people goes down - how long this takes depends on how severe a particular strain is. At the start of the game, there may be a few people in the endemic region who are immune to your first strain. Recovering from the disease grants immunity - viruses grant immunity for much longer, and much more reliably, than bacteria. When you create a new strain, the changes you make determine how likely those who recovered from the earlier strain are to be immune to the new one, and the more dissimilar your strains are, the harder it is to make a cure or vaccine - however, more divergent strains get discovered faster. On a side note, not all symptoms are guaranteed - you invest points into increasing the likelihood of your chosen symptoms. You can go as high as 100%, but that depends on how powerful the symptom is and how willing you are to invest. Bacteria and viruses are differentiated by how researchers respond. For bacteria, researchers will work to develop a cure. This reduces the chance your bacteria has to spread by recovering patients immediately, giving them temporary immunity and preventing them from spreading the disease. On the other hand, viruses get vaccines. These give healthy people permanent immunity without infecting them, building herd immunity and stopping the spread. Community measures such as rapid testing and social distancing can come into play in some areas depending on how your disease spreads, how severe it is, how contagious it is, et cetera. There are several ways to fight the cure. One, you can create new strains and develop drug resistance to reduce its effectiveness and keep spreading. Alternatively, there is the Fake News sub-campaign. This is essentially regular Plague, Inc. layered on top of the new one. You can spread fake news to combat the deployment of the cure or vaccine, or even to spread disease faster - areas with more fake news are more susceptible to infection. Finally, the objective is not to wipe out the human race altogether, but to cause as much death and suffering as you can! There are, of course, achievements for wiping out entire countries, killing off certain percentages of the world's population, and so on. You get lots of points for killing people, but you can get just as many points with gruesome symptoms and long-lasting injury. Kill them or make them wish you did. Various historical scenarios will be included, such as HIV/AIDS, to demonstrate how research and awareness can drastically reduce the contagion and severity of even the deadliest disease; the Congolese Ebola outbreak, to show why killing your hosts too quickly is a bad idea; and even COVID-19, with a twist: you control the response, not the virus.
Sounds interesting. I like the idea of improving the pathogens efficiency with Fake News. I'd also throw in how effective proponents for alternative medicines and essential oils are against the development of cures and vaccines. And I would hope that like Evolved, it would come with a Scenario Creator. Do you have any idea what all pathogens it would have, other than bacteria and viruses?
@appesh1, About the digital marketing/Improvement Pill thing. Improvement Pill is a college dropout and if he has the job. Then, that pretty much means you don't need a degree for it. Look, I am aware that Improvement Pill (aka Authority Phil) may be scamming people on this digital marketing thing and it may turn out that you need a degree for it. However, he showed some comments from people on Seth's digital marketing course on a video and I think one of the comments said that the person (who was writing this comment I'm mentioning right now) was a high school dropout and he got the job. If you have parents or guardians, I recommend you ask them if they're okay with you doing Improvement Pill/Seth's digital marketing course. I also recommend that you make sure you're old enough to do this course. If you don't want to do the course. That's fine, I don't want to sound like Improvement Pill. Though, Improvement Pill might be right when he says that digital marketing isn't something that's taught in college. Anyways, I think you should look up this digital marketing thing for yourself, unless you already have. I don't want to sound like I'm telling you what to do. Feel free to respond to this.
Speaking of which, wouldn't it be a interesting choice if you could make your bacteria or pathogen a "novel" one as an option, in which the first of many victims do not have the proper cure or vaccine, so possible medical solutions are seeked instead? This would make a interesting game, since you have the ability to reek havoc for a period of time before a vaccine is confirmed but once the vaccines out, you have to find other ways of spreading the pathogen before it's all over. Also, I would love to see different effects if you pick a certain country, ig. India has a better spread of your pathogen, then say Greenland. Not only does it provide extra caution depending on what country you choose to start off, but it'll have a lasting impact on how well you can cause suffering to the world.
I'm honestly not sure how I could differentiate things like fungi, parasites, prions, etc. from bacteria and viruses enough to make the gameplay worthwhile - this is a problem with the original concept in my opinion. Also, I think the snake oil salesmen kind of fall under fake news
Forgot to mention in my initial reply: What about effects on major events? I know most games don't do much similar, but I think it would be a nice touch to make it feel a little more effective and realistic. For example, it'd be perfect for a COVID-19 scenario where auto shows, concerts, mass gatherings, etc. are delayed, and other events are completely cancelled. Also, I know this seems like a major change, but a career mode would actually bring a lot to the table. Not only will it get the player want to invest more into the game, but also get some rewards for accomplishing each stage. Obviously I wouldn't make this a necessary mode when you get the game, but also it could provide features that you'd maybe want in scenario/freeroam mode or generally challenge your abilities, so it makes the player want to work towards full completion. Just a few more of my 2 cents.
Digital marketing from what I can tell is about growing businesses online presence, though you certainly make a very informative post. Maybe a high school diploma even without trades isn't worthless at all.
That is a good point. I know fungi in the game has the spore bursts (which can really come in handy when Greenland gives you sass), though if you use the Scenario Creator, you can give other pathogens the spore bursts too. As for parasites, my guess would be to make them more like little creatures rather than pathogens. I know one idea I can think of is that maybe you can establish what kind of parasite your infecting people with, so it could either be a worm that dwells inside the body, or something else entirely. Perhaps make it that parasites can do things that bacteria and viruses cannot? Like for example, maybe a parasite can lay eggs that can stick around in a host even long after the original parasite is gone, meaning that there is a chance of both reinfection and new infections caused by the parasite's recently hatched larvae. If I'm not mistaken, I believe prions are very hard to cure, so there's one potential route you could take to make prions more unique from bacteria and viruses. As for gameplay mechanics, I would assume that in order not to make it overpowered, the people will be more considerate of alternative methods of containing the prion. And what about the Nano-Virus and the Bio-Weapon? I know I was also thinking about the games own original diseases, like the Neurax Worm, the Necroa Virus, and the Shadow Plague. I would wonder if those would make a comeback.
I've found myself forming a habit of smoking cigarettes. I used to vape. Smoking is more fun. I don't really have anything to do right now besides get drunk and chain smoke cigarettes 3-4 nights a week.
I was playing Assetto Corsa and this happened...I think I'm stuck. --- Post updated --- Never mind, I got away. I'm fine now.
