Hello all, I want to make an automation mod with 4 different car versions, how do i upload these? i can only upload 1 zip, and when i make a zip off all 4 zips it does not work in beamng. What i did: Made a folder named vehicles Put my zipped car exports from automation in there zipped the vehicles folder and renamed it. Test: put the zip into the mods folder it appears in beam but gives an error when unpacking vehicles don't appear either. PS This threat is also in another section but did not get any attention yet.
Do like this: 'FolderOfVehicleX' correspond to the last folder you have in the ZIP, that contains all the various files of the mod itself. Also, you can put the 'art' folder that Automation vehicles usually have at the very beginning like: ZIP > art Merging them into a single folder, it should be fine.
That worked thanks! Only problem is that the vehicle pictures in the menu turn into question marks, but when i just export to beam with automation it gives them a picture automatically... --- Post updated --- Well it did not work that well actually, my car has no sound and a lot of the fixtures dont look how they supposed to, vents dont cut out of the body ect.. The folder i have now is: 1 ZIP folder 2 vehicles folder 3 4 folders (unpacked exports from automation) --- Post updated --- like this: --- Post updated --- What am i doing wrong?
Move all those art folders to sport coupe Jarnomodderkolk folder, that is root of the zip. Then you need to get rid of those many vehicles folders, have files of sport_coupe_i5_sport/vehicles in sport_coupe_i5_sport/ directly, do same with all cars.
What am i The vehicle folders have another folder inside them with the name of the car again, in that folder are the files. not really shure getting all the art folders into 1 folder works, they are mostly duplicates.... Isnt there a more easy way, i mean, why do i need to tear down al the zips i get from export, cant i use them just how they are? now i need to upzip them first What i did: Export with automation Search the file in the beamng mods folder, copy it over to another folder for ease ------- So now i need to upzip the folders Then take the art folder out Place them all in 1 folder, dont know how though, you can only have 1 named art, otherwise windows tells me its duplicate After that i would zip the vehicles folder
That's not correct. 'FolderOfVehicle' must not cointain 'vehicles' and 'art' folders again, but just all the various .jbeam .json etc files. The only 'vehicles' folder you must have is the one right under the main ZIP. If I open the 'vehicle1' folder for example, I would need to see something like this: (ie. all the actual files of that mod)
You need only one Art folder, but in that one Art folder can be everything from every other Art folder. Do it how Nadeox1's images shows.
. --- Post updated --- I put in the folders like you did in the mod section it shows up but the vehicles dont make it into the menu
Stuff is case sensitive. 'Vehicles' > 'vehicles' Also what's under the 'sport_coupe_i3_ecosport' and etc. folders?
The jbeam and json files --- Post updated --- I changed the V to a v and now the vehicles appear in the game! Thanks so much for the help
Ok, I know that this discussion is over a year old, but can someone explain this to me as if I don't understand anything files? I've been trying to understand this all day and even asked a few friends who knew basic stuff about computers and we couldn't understand this. Thanks in advance for any help!
Basically I have all 9 cars in the mod folder, and I have no idea where to move them. Do I put them all into a new folder and drag that into another one or something else? Pictures would also help a lot
Please note the same thing is already explain in all the posts above. You are trying to do the same thing, so you can follow the same instructions that were given above. Those are not normal folders, those are ZIP archives. See the Icon and where it says Compressed What you need is one ZIP with this structure: ZIP > one folder named 'vehicles' > a folder for each vehicle, with that vehicle's name > inside each each folder are all the various files of the vehicle (.JBEAM/.JSON/.CS/.PNG) The posts above also already contain images of how your folder structure should be like.
Could anyone please simplify this for me? I'm a little stupid, and I desperately want to make different versions of my Automation car...
I'll make this simple. Step 1, have a zip called "whatever you want", Step 2, make a folder called vehicles, Step 3, insert all individual files for your car here along with the mod_info file. That is all. You will have to ask someone else about the mod_info file because I do not know what it is. However I do not believe you need this folder for this to work. I hope this can help you. Good luck getting this to work.
Alright, thanks! I'll see if I can get this to work, considering I've built a good few cars that have different versions.
Sorry for posting in an old thread, but I've tried to follow the instructions and my cars still won't show up in the BeamNG.drive 'cars' menu. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Sorry that this thread is old, but I have done exactly what I am supposed to do (ZIP > Art > Sound > Blends/Engine, then Vehicles > Vehicle 1, 2, 3, etc.) but only one of the cars has sound. All other cars make no noise apart from tyres. Can anyone diagnose the problem? Maybe it's because some of the engines are different? EDIT: I have commented here before, but it is not the same problem. The cars show up, but most are silent.
I already know that this is a old thread, but this is a thread for help so I am here to ask if I did it right. I got all 3 of my cars, unzipped them together and it already put all of the "art" and "vehicle" folders together will all of the data in them. Then I made it a ZIP file again and I want to know if this is how I should do it.
