Anyone else noticed it is really slow on chrome, freezing all the time. (during scrolling especially).
On Microsoft Edge it is fine, but creating a post can cause it to freeze and reload (especially with youtube vids).
Only started happening after they removed the ratings and redesigned it [added the seperate dev section]

I noticed that too, but I think it might because the internet is kinda shitty at my house.

    *laughs*

I also had some weird behaviour with a custom keyboard on Android (SwiftKey) but it seems to work now. But yeah my connection is pretty fast (150 Meg down). And the scrolling freezing happens accompanied by high CPU usage I think

Happens for me usually, I'd say it's simply your device or internet connection

I'll have to film it when it happens. Tried reinstalling windows on my machine but it didn't fix it.
I'll film around Sunday 8PM GMT

I will on sunday, but from memory chrome is the only browser that works properly with YouTube, Microsoft Edge is painfully slow on YouTube and firefox only had 360p/720p options (this may have changed, haven't used it since i don't know when).

Try Waterfox variety of Firefox, it might work bit better. I'm quite certain I get even 4K options with that, but then again I don't really use YT that way, I use ClipGrab as it's more convenient.

I don't use Firefox itself, but several different Firefox based browsers for different purposes. Most have quite tight security setup, but I haven't found out any slowdowns on this site.

One source of said slowdowns might be some stuff on other domains, which your browser load without hesitation, I get few avatars with red flag for example, which are offsite, by default my setup denies any offsite requests, so those don't slow down my browsing at all.

High CPU usage with scrolling can be some addon doing something it should not, or bug with hardware acceleration, I have found out that with any browser it is best to keep hardware acceleration off, it just causes issues.

Also if you have Avast, Norton or F-secure AV, those can act bit funny way sometimes, for example JPG images can contain viruses, so AV might want to scan those and those three have had high CPU usage issues in past.

I'm using only MS defender and have had no issues with viruses etc. regularly I scan with something else too, however keeping tight control of what requests are allowed and what kind of content is allowed to run by browser is by far best security measure. Sadly today it is almost a norm and expectation that you openly allow anything to run.

My secure browser does not allow even JS to be run, not even cookies. I use that to look sites I don't know of and do all the searching.

With proper secure setup it does not matter if updates are up to date or not, but with updates being up to date you can still get infection by just opening some page if everything is allowed like by default on many browsers. However not many want to go trough all the trouble of setting secure system as every new site you need to adjust quite many settings for pages to load and some sites are made so horribly that they don't allow any kind of security.

I used Chrome for a while and saw no issues, though now I am using Opera and I still don't have issues.
