Now that brake thermals have been added, are you planning to add some kind of function that, depending on the temperature of the brakes, make them glow? I think it would be a good idea since in real life it happens. I don't know how complex the implementation of this feature would be though. I think this topic was somehow discussed long ago, but now that thermals has been implemented I wanted to know if it's going to be in the game in the future. I will add a picture regarding this topic to clarify what I am talking about
As long as I know, racing brakes heat up the same as normal, but have higher tolerance to heat and cool down way faster. Those are good brakes, but energy has to go somewhere xDD
If you watch night / low light races you see this in just about every class from rally to touring to F1. It isn't something you want to be doing on every corner but if it's only at the end of the main straight it won't matter too much.
Cool thing is that, as the new system specifies surface temperature, they could adjust the color of the brake following a table like this And also seeing how there are many different kinds of brakes for every vehicle, each one could have a different gradient if they're cast iron, reinforced carbon, ceramic, etc Unfortunately I don't think the devs have this as a priority (or maybe they do who knows). Woud be cool to see some mod doing something like that, like how the Del Sol had a moving gearshifter
This is exactly what I was thinking. I don't think it would be very difficult for modders to attach a colour to a number. I don't know the game limitations, so it might not be possible, who knows... We may see it in the future...
