So i saved for 3 years to hopefully buy a better PC for gaming. I wonder if anyone could give me some advice on what setting to get. Thanks
I am also planning that, I will be waiting for the ryzen specs and prices, but as it looks now, it is going to be: I7 7700k, good power, 5ghz possible 120v2 water cooler thing Gigabyte gaming Z270 16gb ddr4-3000, 8gb is not enough, not even ony laptop Gigabyte 1070 Phantek case, looks good and good reviews Toshiba 3tb HDD A optical drive, may get one out of an older PC 750w power for overlocking and possible upgrades I am still looking for ssd discounts I choose gigabyte since they are 40 euros cheaper than Asus and MSI. I hope ryzen is good with pricing, but for now it looks like the 6-core is on i7 pricing :/ but I guess it will bring the overall prices down.
Sounds nice....may as well get a pre-built high spec PC, found some selling for about 598.185000 US Dollar (Yup, google gave me that) and their specs appears to be higher than recommended although i'm not sure
Okay....How well would these specs perform on BeamNG? If it's good enough, i'm gonna buy it CPU : Intel i7-6700, 3.4GHz - 8M (up to 4GHz) RAM : 1x 4GB DDR4/2133 (2slots) HDD 500GB 7200rpm 3.5'' Graphics : Intel HD Graphics 530 Optical : DVD-RW Ports : 2 x USB 2.0, 4x USB 3.0, Display port, VGA, 1x PClex16
It has a good processor, a bad gpu, you really want a dedicated one, it also has not enough ram, I would suggest more then 8gb . not for beam but in general, storage is low.
Honestly I'd wait until AMD launches Ryzen CPUs They are said to be hardcore competition for Intel now, even on single threaded apps
I still think that 8GB is totally enough. Unless you want to run highly intensive applications, 8GB is fine.
Before Vega, the current gtx1070 and upwards will be better bang for buck than the AMD gpu's. But we were talking about the processor. AMD is going to launch ryzen cpu's next month (probably) the specs of those CPUs are near or on par with the Intel CPUs. My point was to wait with a CPU upgrade since the prices of Intel will probably go down when ryzen is launched. Tbh, I don't want a ryzen at first since new PC parts are always a risk, and AMD is not 'that' thrustworthy --- Post updated --- I use 7+ of 8gb ddr3 on my laptop quite often when playing beam or doing stuff for school
Well....how about buying a version that has 8GB ram.....i don't really care about GPU...as long as it's not intergrated and DX12 compatible 500GB is fine for me since i don't need much --- Post updated --- BeamNG is the most intensive one to date
Make sure you get it with 1x8GB RAM and you have at least another empty slot for further upgrades Storage-wise, 1TB is not that expensive anymore and I think too much doesn't to any harm at all You do need a solid GPU, imo @Vinh I made a list of PC parts, I dare to call it rather future-proof for BNG and other games (played at high presets - 1080p @60FPS) Spoiler: LIST PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($344.49 @ OutletPC) CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($60.52 @ Jet) Thermal Compound: Noctua NT-H1 3.5g Thermal Paste ($6.98 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($147.98 @ Newegg) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2800 Memory ($89.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Seagate Barracuda ES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($44.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Dual Series Video Card ($404.99 @ B&H) Case: Corsair 100R ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99 @ B&H) Power Supply: Corsair CXM 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($59.99 @ Newegg) Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24F1ST DVD/CD Writer ($17.88 @ OutletPC) Total: $1227.80
The build AlexMD suggests is pretty spot on although I would also say to add a 250gb or 500gb SSD for the operating system to that, they are only around $70 and $160 respectively and are night and day compared to a HDD. Plus you will still be about $200 under the $1500 budget at that.
@Vinh I made a list of PC parts, I dare to call it rather future-proof for BNG and other games (played at high presets - 1080p Oh, yes, I forgot the SSD ._. My bad, I was too focused on the CPU and GPU stuff Yeah, an SSD is a great thing to have, even my 1st gen one is quite nice
