Got a new monitor and wanted to see how well BeamNG ran on it.

TLDR: 25 fps is my new BeamNG experience

Just some racing around ECA, nothing too interesting.

    The new monitor:
    Acer Predator 27'' 1440p 144hz GSync monitor.

Even though the game runs at only 20-25fps, it still looks amazing thanks to GSync.

that makes no sense monitors do not improve fps your game is running even worse because that res is 1440p that is higher then 1080p

GSync syncs the refresh rate of your monitor to what your GPU can push out so lower frame rates appear smoother. I was getting 35 fps on my old 1080p monitor so 10 less fps for a smoother experience is good for me. The frames are noticeable at 25 fps but it feels smoother because of GSync. There's no tearing or ghosting or stuttering at all.

Wait... these specs get you 35 FPS at 1080p? Something's wrong there... I have framerate problems with the latest version and I still get higher framerates on ECUSA - around 45-50 near the town.

i did get a max of 45-50 but usually 35-45. I have everything at max including dynamic reflection. it's the lighting quality that kills my frame rate. with it on lowest, i get 80-110 fps instead of 25-30. turning lighting from lowest to low gets me down to 35-40. dynamic reflections with lowest lighting quality nets me about 55-70

Dynamic reflections are the killer. Lower them, or disable them and you'll get nearly 60 FPS on max settings otherwise.

Do you have "faces per update" turned to max or quite high in dynamic reflections? If so lower it alot, it adds basically no visual quality while taking a massive hit on fps, think -10-20fps at times.

That's unusual performance on that rig.
I have no issues maintaining 60FPS on ECA on a 970 (High preset, no dynamic reflection - If I use dynamic reflection, I keep 'faces per update' on 2-3, higher is really expensive)

I just opened the game and got 30 fps this time instead of 25, hmm odd but i'll take it. Turned off dynamic reflections and gained 5-10 fps. Turned down FPU and gained 5ish fps. Setting lighting quality to Lowest with dynamic reflections on max netted me up to 65 fps though (90 fps with no dynamic reflections), it does look terrible due to lack of any shadows lol

That's definitely an issue. Nadeox is right: with that hardware, you shouldn't ever be below 30fps even at absolute maximum settings. Him and I both get nearly 60fps at the settings that get you 25. Perhaps you should contact support or Nadeox himself to try to get the issue resolved.

Is this 60fps on 1440p? remember I'm not on 1080p anymore though I did get 45ish fps on 1080p. I used to get 60 until sometime around update 0.5

    I'm on 2560x1080 and 60FPS on ECA.
From the video it looks indeed you have 'faces per update' on reflections cranked to max, which can dip FPS to 30 and lower on a 970. Set it in the middle or lower and you will get a nice boost.
