GPU not responding error

Hi, I've not used BeamNG for a few months now, when I have launched the game today I was only able to play for a couple of minutes before getting the above error. In the log it looks like this:

Something interesting when this game crashes is that the GPU gets confused and the fan keeps working at an overtime rate like the game is still running, this cannot be cured without re-starting the machine, after which it is fine. Other games crash on my machine but not to the extent that it is causing physical problems with my hardware, has this error been documented anywhere else?
