WIP Grand Marshal XL - could use some help

    My latest and most serious attempt at making a mod, the Grand Marshal XL. I believe I made it 100cm longer than the original Grand Marshal, and if/when it's finished it should have the same parts available as the normal Grand Marshal, except for the police decals and push bar, since they don't really suit a "limo".

    To do:
    - Mesh work
    - Importing into the game, lots of things to be done though to get it to work.
    -Smooth the mesh
    -Fix the rotation of all parts
    - Textures
    - n/b -> which I really don't understand anyting about

    Any suggestions/tips are welcome, and I hope people will actually like this, or at least will tell me how to make it better.

    Okay so I could use some help.
    First of all, I put all parts' piviot points to 0,0,0 except for the steering wheel, gauges and other moving stuff in the interior, and it still rotates wrong when in game.. Any idea how to fix this? My first attempt didn't have this problem but I deleted that one..
    Second I have no idea how to make a new uv map thing for the textures.
    Third I can't figure out how to work with the jbeam etc.

    So yea, basically all I could do was making the mesh, which isn't even smooth yet, that's also not working yet, and now I'm stuck.. Could anyone help me?

    (the wheels not being straight was just for the pics, I thought it sort of looked better, I put it back to normal afterwards)

    UPDATE:
    3ds max crashes every time I try to edit something ever since I started using openCOLLADA instead of the plugin that comes with 3ds max itself.. I wanted this to be a good quality mod and this way it just won't work. Also I have exams coming up and they are more important, so until I find a way to get 3ds max working again and I have some free time, there won't be any progress at all. My apologies to anyone who actually was looking forward to this, hopefully it will be redone in the future but ATM I can't guarantee anything..

    I wanted to make a limo too :/

    Go for it. As long as I don't learn how to fix everything this won't be released anyways, and yours might end up better than mine as well.

    I'm working on a Gavril Grand Marshal Widebody Edition, so i don't have enough time :) and i don't know anything about jbeam :/

    I haven't done anything to the interior yet, but as soon as all the rotation stuff is fixed i'll look into it. A new interior would be nice since the current interior doesn't really suit a limo, but I'm not a great modeller so I doubt I could make it look good.

    Can you make it look more like a 1997 Volvo station wagon with a spoiler? Been dying to see a mod for one in a game for ages...

    I wish I had modeling skills... I have all the time in the world to model, but I don't know how!

    Everything can be learned and you can start by looking up tutorials on youtube. I'm pretty bad at it myself as well though. For the GM XL I only had to fill in some gaps which was quite easy, but I also did a attempt at a wagon a while ago and that was a whole lot harder.

    After I finish the Grand Marshal XL (if I actually finish it) I might do an attempt at modding one of the other cars but for now I'll try to do this first. I haven't had time for anything today yet though, but I hope to get at least some progress tonight.

    My issue is that I don't have internet at home, so if I run into any snags, it's anywhere from 24-48 hours from being able to get to a computer, find the solution and fix it. I am working with map modeling, I hope my map turns out well and actually runs... Anyone here know the max size (Km wise) for a map currently?

    I drive an old Volvo S70, so texturing would be easy.
    I think I'll cook it up later on this year :D
