Released Grid2 V3 - Semirealistic nonsense

    I thought the original Gridmap was a bit lacking, and i have set it upon myself to create a map with more possibilities to destroy vehicles ;)

    Let me know if you have any suggestions :)

    Install: Unrar it in BeamNG-DRIVE-0.3\levels

    Changelog

    V 3.0 - 13.08.2013
    • Added some ramps and a spiralroad
    • Managed to get different colors of different things, that's the best i can do

    Looks fun. I assume that because it's not filled with vegetation it'll run better for people with potatoes?

    Probably, especially those of us running with PostFX on..
    Vegetation seems to kill when using HDR/AO.

    Lookin Sweet! GridMap is my fav map (not just because high fps, get high fps on other maps) but it has been getting sort of boring after have crashed into every visible object over and over.

    Thank you for the kind feedback people :)

    Here's a little update on some of the parts i'm making, and i even got one into the game :D The collision isn't working though, perhaps because i use modo and not blender. I have set the collision to visible mesh but that changes nothing

    Right now this map isn't quite playable, loop works 1 out of 20 times and wheels get pushed over the car when it reaches the bottom of the big "slide" etc:p I'd also like to replace the loops and such with my own models. But as soon as that's done i'll release it. The map size is 90 MB though, i suspect that is abnormal. The map wouldn't open when i just saved it as a .mis file in the level directory so i just copied the original gridmap and renamed everything to the new filename. I have no idea what is the correct way to do things :p

    My god, this is ridiculous! So i thought it would be fun to load one of my spaceships in my new track, you know for decor and stuff:p And it worked, with absolutely no performance loss :D How is this even possible?? The last one has a polycount of 1 500 000... I also started anew on the empty grid track.

    Now all we need is jet engines in BeamNG, then someone could make a space level, would be epic. Awesome ship btw.

    On topic, those hot wheels style ramps look like they must be awesome fun.

    Yes it makes it easy to facilitate crashes between two cars :) Also i think i will release this tomorrow i think

    Ok i restarted again, but this time i need not do it again :p The old stuff looked ridiculous, and it didn't fit together.

    I'm going to model the entire track in modo, and then move it into the game. It's much faster that way.

    Also, i'm not to be trusted when i say i'll release anything, sorry :)

    Oh and i happened to have a model of the Burj Khalifa on my old computer, should fit nicely at the center of the map i'd say, going to be nice when you get lost.

    The map is released! Feel free to suggest things, i'm running empty on ideas already. Textures and materials are coming if it isn't a big hassle
