You did not create this, it was released on a russian site about 2 weeks ago. Stop stealing.

Come on guys, he did convert this, I even spoke to one of the modsgaming people about it, it's a great conversion.

More and more Russian people are purchasing the game and coming to this forum, we should be welcoming them, not scaring them away.

So much this. I guess we are so used to putting the blame on them... Well, good to see they are going legit.

OT: Man! I remember playing SA all the time and just cruising around this area. Memories..... Looks great, will give it a go when I get home!

Would the entire San Andreas map be too laggy for the game to handle?

Too big really. We're limited to the maximum resolution of the height maps and for a map the size of san andreas I think we would need a higher resolution than we have available.

The reason it runs slow is because there are no LOD's

As soon as level of detail is added you should be able to make more with a good fps. All you need to do is make buildings within 100m radius load normally and the rest are just rectangles with very low resolutions on them. That way it doesn't matter how big the map is (almost) you will always get a decent fps. You could also remove all textures from the heightmap object and make it invisible which may help a bit.

Since you are using the whole map as one large object you could create the whole thing, then create a LO for it. split it into tiles ,they don't have to be square, just have to avoid going through the middle of buildings and then import all of the tiles into BeamNG and job done.

The collision mesh could also use some optimization.

This is a really cool mod don't get me wrong, it could just do with a little work, the things i have suggested are in response to the op's comment about fps.

Is this a port or did OP just re-model the whole area?

As far as i can tell it is a port, as i showed a post or two up the collision mesh is very detailed which would indicate a direct port of just the visible mesh. Also the inside of your garage is modeled and textured which is a detail that i don't believe would have been included if it was a re make.

speaking of the garage, would be cool if he somehow made the garage door open when you got close enough

This looks awesome. I've just recently been getting into the GTA series and it is so cool to see this in BeamNG. Keep it up! Maybe even make a few sections of the GTA V map :3

GTA much? This is too freaking cool
