    Hi guys, I was wondering if anybody out there has the GTX 970 Twin Frozr edition by MSI, and if so what is your rough performance on full settings, i currently have;

    - i5 3470k @ 3.6 GHz.
    - 16GB Hyperx Beast RAM.
    - 2TB WD Green Hard drive.
    - Asus Z97 Motherboard.
    - EVGA GTX 780.

    I will be looking to upgrade my 780 and was looking to see how the 970 will compare, price to performance wise.

    I believe most benchmarks show the 970 and 780 in terms of performance are near identical. It may have lower power usage though and tends to run cooler. Otherwise not a substantial upgrade.

    Ideally should have been posted here: http://www.beamng.com/forums/40-Computer-Hardware
    Gonna flag it to mods, see if they move it to its rightful home.

    In short it's useless to upgrade from a 780 to 970, the 970 is about 10% faster. Not worth the effort.

    What "and money"? What does that mean? Neither a 780 nor a 970 is cheap, he is probably paying extra for almost the same performance. And if you now come with "BUT TAH POWURR CUNSUMTPUN" - he will amortize this card in like 5 or more years - probably by half the time the next GTX X80 comes out. Money wasted, no real performance gained, just dumb.

    I think he meant, not worth the effort - and not worth the money.
