Give some more details: PC Specs, before/now framerate, happens on any level, settings, resolution.. Have you checked that your settings did not get reset to default? And are you sure it's not just an nocebo effect? (ie. FPS seems lower, but it's actually the same)
I always have my setting on high besides the dynamic reflection and I never had a problem and now I having a fps drop and I deactivated all my mods to make sure it wasn't them --- Post updated --- I'm sure because it is now glitches unlike before
Please give the details I asked earlier, without it's a guessing game. Define 'glitches' as well. The more information, the better is.
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1060mini 6gb (only one graphics card) Ram: 8.00 GB System:64 bit Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM) i5-7400 cpu @3.00 GHZ Windows: 10 Storage: 1Terabite
i have GPU] radeon 560 series SINGLE CARD CPU] AMD phenom x3 720 processor SYS] 64x windows10 STORAGE} 1.81 Terabytes RAM} 8 GB FPS on the utah map is: HIGH 53.7 LOW 33.7 Graphics: Low DOF on LIGHT RAYS on ANTI-ALIASING on Car: ETK I-series
Amazing, I didn't know that processor could even run windows 10. That being said, I think your fps is normal. Try turning the dof and light rays off if you want more, but since those are gpu effects I doubt they will do much.
I experienced frame drops as well. I had frames dropping every 10 seconds or so while when i drove on ECA. I did clear cache before i launched the game and i did have mods on (only 9 of the latest updated ones) so i didn't know it that played an part. But I recalled that beamng were trying to resolve an graphics bug with nvidia so i went ahead and updated my drivers and now i don't get any drops. (I still don't know it that was the fix. Other posts here are from users with amd cards so i dunno).
TBH your gpu should be able to run at least medium settings, it's your CPU holding you back. I have the 460, and I get 60fps on (most) maps at medium settings. Turn off shapeds and anti-aliasing to improve CPU performance, but you can up the graphics elsewhere.
I'm not sure what shapeds are but anti-aliasing does not increase cpu usage what so ever. The settings that use more cpu are lighting, reflections, and mesh detail. Also turning sound sources down will help cpu usage. All the other graphics options are strictly gpu work only.
Shadows makes sense hah. One thing I forgot to mention is that in a cpu limited situation it can be beneficial to increase the post processing load on the gpu to reduce the workload on the cpu as long as the gpu can handle it. With low graphics settings the gpu will be trying/requesting higher fps, and the more fps the more the cpu has to work to push all that data to the gpu. With the gpu working harder, it will demand less fps/data from the cpu, freeing the cpu up to do more things like physics.
No, if anything I'd say 0.12 is a little smoother. Using a Geforce 950 & i7 CPU. I have most settings on max, but I like SSAO and vertical sync off. Runs smoother that way.
