Head gasket and oil

    Why does the blown head gasket seem to have no effect other than visual? I would think the car's engine would be harmed in some way by driving with a blown head gasket. I would think that at the very least you'd be burning up oil and coolant doing that. Speaking of oil... is there plans for more detailed simulating of oil? I'd really love to be able to see oil leaks and wreck engines by running them without oil.

    Blowing the head gasket currently makes the car lose a bit of compression and burn/lose some coolant.
