Hello! I would like to get some tips and help on my first mod. I was thinking about making a simple Ambulance, but I don´t know where to start.

    Best regards, Isak
Btw the helicopter mod is now cancelled

If you're thinking on making a helicopter, don't. Start of with something simple like a skin or a new part for an existing car.

Did you even read my whole post?o_O
Start off with something smaller. Because you're just going to get frustrated and regret starting on it.

Yes, a skin is a great way to start. I am still learning to mod and I have only made skins and licence plates :)

Examples of what you can do with practice...

Colourable skins with non-colourable sections. I even made the stickers less reflective and more matte thanks to the advice of some experienced modders :D

It’s actually just one skin, just with different colours selected in each image :)

And they are currently unreleased, they were intended to be part of a larger pack with more racing skins, however I got stuck with creating branded tires and lost motivation. The shadows on the mod have also broken so that has also left me unmotivated to work on it

I’m just about to start 12th grade, so I’m going to be really busy this year, so it won’t be released soon, if ever :(

Add something to map is also easy way to start, you just need to learn 3d model, uv mapping, texturing etc. With cars you need to learn a lot more, fake helicopter is easier to make than a car. You can't learn making car without diving into mathematics and all of that.

Making mods to games like GTA etc is like making static objects to maps in BeamNG, making vechile mods to BeamNG is like becoming engineer and pioneering some new type of structures.
