I'm making a van version of my Satsuma and it has 30cm longer wheelbase than the sedan and wagon versions. I bumped into a problem with the hubcaps. I adjusted the "nodeOffset" of the rear hubs and the rear wheels are in the right places but now the hubcaps revolve around the hubs. The hubcaps also use node offset and without it they are almost two inches away from the wheels and look like this: How can I adjust the hubcap offset without using "nodeOffset" and making dupilcate rear wheels for the LWB version?
nodeOffset can be a little weird at first, it has some important limitations. With that said, this works fine on official vehicles. You should only be setting nodeOffset once for any given sub-tree. For example, do not set nodeOffset to move your suspension and then try to use it again to move the universal wheels which are a child of the suspension - that won't play nicely. Instead duplicate your suspension and manually move it back so that it does not use nodeOffset, then adjust the nodeOffset for the wheels accordingly as well. Look at the Pickup for comparison (Ext and Crew versions use duplicated and moved suspensions). For moving duplicated suspension parts you may want to use the BNEditor / NodeBeamEditor / whatever located at: Steam\SteamApps\common\BeamNG.drive\utils\editor\BNEditor.exe Also note that your wheels should include both tire and hubcap slots, just like the official content. Sorry in advance since I'm sure you already realize at least some of these things.
Thanks for advice. I solved the problem by modeling and jbeaming my own wheels and hubcaps after the Datsun ones instead of using modified vanilla parts. It was already on my planned features list for the Satsuma. The Satsuma 3.0 will be released some time in next week.
