I haven't been into video games in a long time. I played Drive on my friends computer. I LOVE this game! It's what I've always wanted since Destruction Derby on ps1 became old. I have an HP Stream with, I think 4gb memory. Will that run this game ok? If not I'm looking at an HP dual core 16GB RAM desktop.
    Thanks everyone!

95% no, it will be unplayable. This game requires some serious horses, and if you are going to buy it you may as well play it on a decent system. Most laptops won't cut it, only really powerful ones with a good GPU. My ASUS ROG G750JH runs it great, but it was top of the line in 2013, and is still pretty competitive now, but most laptops won't do the job. If you really want to game without breaking the bank (laptops are expensive for the performance) then get a good desktop, with a good GPU and CPU.

this is taken from the wiki. beamng is an EXTREMELY demanding game. and it takes a pretty damn good computer to run it. there is no way your current computer is going to run beamng. sorry about your luck :(

my computer was top of the line in 2011, and still hasnt gotten an upgrade :p (though, i am planning on replacing my 660ti with an EVGA 1070 soon) it runs beamng like a dream, only getting framerate drops around 5-7 cars

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm looking at a refurbished HP desktop with 16gb ram. I'm decently computer savvy but when it comes to gaming I know nothing.

Basically for gaming you need a powerful graphics card (GPU), and a strong CPU. RAM doesn't actually make a huge difference compared to those two.

16 gb of ram is great, but for gaming i would strongly urge you to build your own rig! it can cost more, but the value (cash to power ratio) is much better. its easy and fun! there is a good reason people call PC building "lego for adults"

Modem, I just saw your post regarding the gaming requirements. (Probably should have looked deeper to find that!)
If I got an decent desktop with something like Intel i5, and I had lagging issues, could I simply upgrade the graphics card to the GTX780? I see many good deals on Ebay for custom build desktops but I'm a little weary buying something like that.

I did find and HP touch desktop with AMD A6 6310, 4gb memory and "AMD integrated graphics" that seems like a good deal. I would really only have the game on it and nothing else running.

GTX780 will run the game really well. However you have to make sure that:
    1. it fits inside your pc
    2. your power supply is powerful enough
