Very good advice! Though I don’t quite get what’s wrong with starting with the default cube. I feel his shading is brilliant so far anyway but the damage could be better, and I never thought of this being a factor haha

because you have way more control over the whole shape of the car if you do everything bit by bit and you can model around the wheelarches to get smoother results there

Bad polyflow can badly affect the damage. This model could have better polyflow (though it's already 10000 times better than what I can make lol)

It would be awesome if you made a thread in Beam, as I and many others would love to learn more. Your models are really nice so I think it would be really interesting :D

i actually played around with the thought ofmaking maybe a little discord server with a few modeling tutorials but i dont wanna be seen as an Mfd competitor in any way so that might be something for another day

This thread has been a tad quiet, but, update!
I’m not attaching images bc it’s 1 at a time which is unbelievably annoying, but:
I’ve attached the bonnet, fenders and bumper.
@Nacho Problem has done some polyflow improvements (thanks so much!)
And I’ve also modified the model’s polyflow a good amount.

    Now to attach the doors…

I’ve now added all the body panels and suspension! It turned out the fender wasn’t attached properly lol.
(These pictures were took on a lower end device, excuse the quality)
Underside ( w/o correct track width or brakes, I took this before that )

Correct width etc (PR02s because Hirochi haven’t got any 16 inch wheels)

It now drives! It has a Flat 4 and a Flat 6, and also now has other components such as a rear differential and 2 OEM transaxles.

Driving the F6 1 also with a crash demo

Driving the F6 2 also with a crash demo

Please note the fact the fuel tank is literally just slapped in, has no flexbody or proper node connections yet. It explodes way too easily.

Also, I’m currently making both but it also has no radiator or exhaust there. Though the exhaust has its finished jbeam.

I’ve been meaning to ask but are you going to make it look exactly like the Miata or are you going to give it some Hirochi design like from the eSBR?

Only the vague proportions are ND MX-5. The design is going to be entirely new (with Hirochi eSBR style DRLs etc)

Could you show us the model with the vertices to see how the polyflow improved ?
