I currently am working on a video talking about the history of beamng. I have looked on the forums and found some timelines people have made, but they haven't lined up. I also have tried creating my own timeline. This works, but is less accurate as I don't have the widest knowledge of the history of the game. If anyone knows about the details of the games creation, and facts about its history it would be greatly appreciated. Currently I am going off of this timeline: https://www.beamng.com/threads/history-development-of-beamng.6465/ But it doesn't include everything, and some of the dates don't make sense. If anyone has facts or info on the history of beamng it would be really useful.

It didn't used to be called Rigs of Rods, that was a whole different game released in 2005.
Also btw that's not what wikipedia says so I don't know where you got that information.

Bruh do you really trust Wikipedia??? The website that anyone can edit? Only kids trust it, and what you read there is a lie. Rigs of Rods is A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAME BY DIFFERENT PEOPLE.

In the beginning, there was nothing. Then, Tdev said "Let there be nodes and beams" and there was Beamng.drive.

    Basic facts:

    Tdev is the “God”

Salad wewe is the best selling car

    Mattresses fall from the sky
In all seriousness, I could whip up some nice lore, so send me a PM if you want

It was removed exactly for this reason. People abusing the function by using it on nonsense posts.
Also, RoR wasn´t made by completely different people, a lot of BeamNG devs is associated with RoR in some way.

You are not totally right here. Originally Rigs Of Rods was created by Pierre Michel Ricordel (alias Pricorde, he is in Beamng's credits) but most of beamng foundators (tdev, estama, gabester, ljfhutch) were also developpers for RoR that joined Pricorde on his project.
Pricorde quickly stopped working on RoR but tdev and some other devs were still here working on improving it (that was somewhere near to 2005-2007), then tdev started working on a new project of soft body car physic in 2012 using the same idea as RoR (nodes and beams) but with a new physic and graphic engine (Cryengine 3 for graphics and homemade physic engine IIRC).
As tdev said, he stopped working on RoR when he started working on beamng, with the help of gabester and estama (he paid them with his savings). So actually tdev isn't the foundator of RoR, but he still was one of the major dev of this game before he started working on beamng. Obviously not all RoR devs moved on beamng's team and I don't really know what proportion of the RoR's dev team leaved to work on BeamNG.

Actually... there's a bit of wikipedia lol (only for pricorde, and this information was confirmed by other sources), but it's mostly informations I found by lurking on the forums and reading the messages of the beamng team both on the forums and discord. Keep in mind that some informations may be inaccurate, it's not very clear how BeamNG started
