They may be kinda pointless but they sure do look cool. Some of the coolest muscle cars (pictures include Mustang Mach1 and AAR Cuda) of the 60s and 70s had them and they still remain very popular to this day. I can't believe that nobody at the BeamNG development team thought of this, specially since they would look amazing on the Barstow (and Moohawk too maybe).
