I've baked the normal map for the underside of body and it just looks like this ingame the texture is just flat except for the diffuse map

Ah. "Normal Maps" are part of the texturing system of a car - how you break up the 3D model into 2D shapes so that they can be textured. What you're looking for is creating your own level - Check the "Tutorials Index" thread pinned to the top of the forum, and check out everything under "Levels". Just bear in mind that some of these threads are fairly old, and it pays to read them the whole way through to check to see if issues cropped up in newer versions and were solved in the past. Just remember - "f11" is the key you'll need to enter/exit the map editor, and it pays to pause physics with "j" before attempting to edit the level. --- Post updated --- Beamng mods are free to publish - just avoid using copyrighted material.
